i have found platies good for a 10g, hardy and colourful!

the length of the tank is 57.5 cm / about 22 inches I have included a pic so you can see thw sword plant I have at the mo as well as some messy Anacharis or something on the left. Platies are active tonight!!

ah ok, thanks for clarification both of you. I definitely only have flourescent then :( and as it is all attached to the hood, i don't think i can increase it easily... So shall i stick with the plants you first suggested BigJim? Is there anything easy I can do/ add to help them also, and grow...

Hi guys, I am thinking of buying some java moss for my 12 gallon tank. inhabitants are pygmy cories, platies and harlequin rasboras. Main question is will the cories like it? Cos i know they like to sit on the bottom... thanks

update - 1 platy seems to be moving around now - the others still similar situation - hiding and listless. Got my water tested - ammonia is fine. other slightly too high, so i think as someone suggested i put my tank through a mini cycle (so annoyed - everything was perfect before these stupid...

no i didnt use dechlorinator - i never do (bad i know) as for surface agitation, my filter has been turned off for 3 days of so cos one platy just had fry. have now turned filter back on with tights over the top to stop them getting sucked in.... the tights are not new, so have been washed...

yep, similarly to dkpate - my harlequin rasboras lose their black markings almost completely at night! thanks for the video - really interesting!
