    30 FISH?!?!?! in a 46 gallon? Waaayyy too much! The rule is 1" of fish per gallon, just for them to survive... not even to thrive. I'm guessing your fish aren't like 1" each... Your fish are probably 2-3 inches each... so i'd say you should only have 15-20 fish maximum. 15 should be good...

    thanks guys. actually, when i woke up this morning, the water was like 90% clear, and now it's looking perfect. i even found what looks like a baby feather duster hiding on one of the rocks! now i have to go buy another 6-10 lbs. of live rock to add to the collection, so i can let it all cycle...

    depends on how big your fish are and what else you plan on putting in there. also think about how much sand and rock or decorations you have, as that displaces some of the water capactiy. a 39 gallon tank should be about 36-37 gallons of water w/ normal "filling" the general rule is 1" of fish...

    if you're looking into that, should also looking at adding some substrate or live argonite reef sand... what do you have on the floor of your tank if you don't have sand? you should post some pics of your 55 gallon tank up (or both if you want) :)

    live rock help is low maintenance. once a regular rock has been "cured" it is live and will just thrive in a saltwater tank. you don't need to feed it or anything. just normal water maintenance like you should be doing anyway. it will help build the proper bacteria to help maintain water...
