things that go in a 10gal

good idea about the classifieds thanks mgamer. I'm still having a hard time making up my mind about the balls, my tank is small and I dont want anything particularly taking it over or anything...I also don't know if the algae might have any ill effects, I also read lots of debris hangs around...

things that go in a 10gal

willow moss looks pretty cool. But I've never seen it available anywhere...is there somewhere online to get it? Oh and on the moss ball...so since it's algea (which I think the one at my LFS is...because it looks like a sponge ball rather than clumped java moss) I'm assuming its not...

So right now I have some guppies, tetras, ghost shrimp and a pink ramshorn snail. I also have HM and hygro (which if you hang around the classifieds you know I got from jnam) I've been thinking of other plants to add...and I was thinking of maybe adding something mossy. In your experience what...

    plant bulbs

I guess so....it just seemed nasty and I didn't want to add that to my tank. But it may very well be because the tank is absolutely filled with pants and its like 3 small tank glued together but the water goes between all three....and theres algea all over the sides of the tank. I've had the...

Hi! Looking for advice on freshwater tank

alright! Thank you so much for those suggestions joy. I quickly looked them up and read that clown plecos stop eating as much algea after maturity but that pitbulls are algea eating monsters. So I'm thinking I'mma go with the pitbull pleco! ^_^

Hi! Looking for advice on freshwater tank

So I read a few things including the article on this forum about fishless cycling. So should I cycle with or without my plants? Also am I correct in assuming I wont add my algae eaters until the cycling is complete correct? Then after letting them settle in slowly add in more fish

Hi! Looking for advice on freshwater tank

I was planning on doing fishless...in fact I heard its better to let your tank settle with just the plants for a least a few weeks before adding fish...is this correct?

Hi! Looking for advice on freshwater tank

Yeah I heard on many places that cycling with can be done but isn't the best way of going about it. So my plan is tank and plants, algea eaters then fish....that is best right?

Hi! Looking for advice on freshwater tank

Well I actually work from home, so missing a shipment isn't a particular problem. If I was to order the plants online, should I wait till the day they come in to start setting up my tank or set it up and start cycling with just water? Cause from what I have seen on the net I've seen it both way...

Hi! Looking for advice on freshwater tank

Hi! Looking for advice on freshwater tank

Thanks Dean, yeah I haven't even gotten my tank yet. I've been reading stuff and checking out some youtube videos about keeping freshwater planted tanks. Figured a forum would be the next best move with some experienced keepers. I'll keep the bigger tank in mind. Within the next week or so I...

LOL I know that seems like a silly question I dont remember reading anything about them being social...but from keeping hamsters and especially my monitor I have learned...

Hi! Looking for advice on freshwater tank

Thank you both so much for all the ideas. As far as algea eaters go along with the fish would something like some cherry or glass shrimp be ok too? I think the cherry shrimp would add some pretty color.

Hi! Looking for advice on freshwater tank

HI! Ok so as in my other thread I said I thought a tank would be a nice addition to my room as something calming and nice to look at etc. So now since that night I have looked into both saltwater and freshwater tanks. I decided freshwater would be better since I don't have really any experience...

Alright, when I was young my dad kept a fish tank thanks to my mom we had a couple goldfish....one became the boss and ate the others....ouch. Other than that I have had no experience keeping fish...I didn't even really keep those as the child my dad cared for the tank. In the meantime I have...
