We haven't gotten this far before

I haven't made it that far! My angels have laid eggs 3-4 times now but they're always eaten within a day or two. I got a nursery box. Next time they lay i'm going to take the leaf and put it in the nursery.

    live substrate

As I said in a previous post, I took a few years off of aquariums and apparently forgot some of my knowledge over the years. I remember years ago researching a bioactive substrate for aquariums but I can't remember anything about it. The tank would in theory pretty much manage itself with only...

    Love or Hate?

Hey everyone. I've picked up these two crayfish, around a month apart. Immediately when I introduced them a little skirmish broke out. I was prepared for this possibility but was relieved to see it calm pretty quickly. Over the next week however I caught them multiple times locked in an...

    too many filters?

Well i am definately wanting a heavily planted tank, so you're saying it's probably safe just to go with the canister... i may put the canister outflow on one end and keep a hob on the other end just for good circulation. The other hob can be saved for backup if i ever need it.

    too many filters?

So I just got this 85 gallon aquarium and it came with several filters. Now that I've got it set up I'm thinking it's filter overkill. It has two seperate two-biowheel powerfilters and a Eheim GCCO canister filter. Do I need all of these? Obviously the canister, but both powerfilters?

    Stocking suggestions for new 75

I am going to look into the discus. It seems like they're honestly going to end up costing about as much as I would spend on a saltwater setup but they're interesting so we'll see.

    Stocking suggestions for new 75

I've definately done cichlid tanks in the past. As far as readily available freshwater fish, they are the prettiest. As for this tank I've considered both community and agressive. I can see having a large single fish with a tank of smaller cichlids (they're quick lol) but i can also see...

    Stocking suggestions for new 75

I just found an amazing deal on a 75 gallon show tank. Came with two, two-bio wheel power filters and a canister filter. I've been in saltwater the last couple of years but there's just no way I could afford to run this thing saltwater so I think we're gonna go freshwater. I know there are...
