Thanks for the reply. The water parameters are as follows: ph 7.5, ammonia .5ppm, nitrite 0, nitrate 80ppm. Hardness may be a problem as apparently my tap water comes from a combination of different places and varies from week to week (sometimes soft and sometimes on the hard side.) I thought...
