What about the cubes in the top off water, to lower the temp. Then putting it in the tank. 1 gal every other day of chilled water has to cool off of the water some right? What about the shock to the fish? I'm thinking if its put into the sump the cooler water would be dispersed through the tank.

Sould I stir the sand up?

It is white sand that has turned black. Is it a bacteria?

I have a 29gal tank with about 2" of sand and 8lbs of live rock. I'm not sure if this is a problem but there is quite a bit of black sand right under the top layer of sand, I have been mixing around the sand to try to get rid of it, is this ok? Or should I just leave it alone?

Hi all, I have a basic question, I'm going to be putting a Refugium at the bottom of my 29gal tank and I was wondering how do I do a water change? Do I turn off the sump and empty the main tank or empty the Refugium. If I emptied the refugium wouldn't it in-turn empty the main tank? :?
