    Surface Oily HELP!!

What type of food are you feeding? I found that certain foods cause this. Also someone mentioned a paper towel. It works. Turn off your pumps and slowly dip the paper towel into the water. When you pull it out it will pull the oil out. But you need to find the cause. I bet it's your food...

    Build my led.com

I have bml.com lights on my reef and on my fw planted tank. I love them. I have the reef spectrum and the super actinic. They are great lights. I recommend them.

I have a question about balloon mollies in my frag tank.

They won't hurt your corals. They are not efficient though. I wouldn't expect them to eat very much hair algae.

    How much GFO?

About 1 tablespoon per 4 gallons is a good start. Using less in the reactor won't hurt anything. You can use more per gallon but you want to start slow and test.

    Biocube

    Add more water.

    Small Brown toast creatures

Look like flat worms. If they bad, kinda depends. If they are just on the glass, probably just algae eaters and might die off. If they show up on coral then you will have to treat or get a fish that eats them.

    Blackout/No photo period

My friend owns an online coral sales company and regularly turns his lights off for the weekend. He buys wild caught coral which are collected during rainy season. He has 30 1000w mh and does it to save money but his coral always look amazing. He does lights out for Saturday and Sunday once a month.

    Tank rebuild

The life reef over flow is solid but expensive. If you have it drilled and use PVC, I would wait like three or four days to set the tank back up. Just to make sure the glue has cured. 2 days at the least.

    Amino acid supplement

Amino acids are usually used in ulns. This is used when there are very little nutrients available to coral. This will not help your nem. I would test your water. Start with calcium, alk and then nitrate and phosphate.

    Amazing or agitating?

Once one set starts laying eggs they will kill the others. Even in your 200. Good luck.

    Nitrate reactor

    Why not try bio pellets?
  13. B

    Live sand

Your fine. It will cycle with your tank.

    Can't lower nitrates

    How old is your tank?
  15. B

    Live sand

The one you buy? It's not really alive. They give a little bag of bacteria in the bag. So it can last a long time. If its really alive to begin with.

Is this a good tank? supposed compete set up?

No skimmer needed. Just water changes. Nano skimmers aren't that great.

Is this a good tank? supposed compete set up?

I would get good testing equipment. And some salt and your ready to run.

Is this a good tank? supposed compete set up?

Sure it's good. Good price with that sale. You could run it like that till you see your needs change.

    Open brain coral

I would check phosphates with a Hanna checker. If you don't have one see if you have a local fish club or lfs that has one.

    Is this a barnacle??

And tunicates are good filter feeders. You could probably pull it off. Gently.
  21. B

    Is this a barnacle??

It looks like a tunicate. Hard to tell from pic. Does it open and close on the end? What happens if you touch it? Could be a few different things.

    Doug's 250, now 300, in wall build

I have a five stage spectra pure and they told me not to run the stock system at that high of pressure. But do run it at 80 psi per the gauge but I do get 2:1 ratio. They have a kit for higher pressure which I will upgrade to when I go to buy new filters. They said I would get 1:1 ratio.

    Doug's 250, now 300, in wall build

My Tds is around 106 with 114 psi. A lot if our local guys use the tap water with prime. But our water is from an aquifer and its real high in calcium.

    Think it will live?

They should be fine. They don't look too bad to me. As long as your water is good they will be fine. Good score for free.
