    blue "moon" light help

I once spent ages making blue moonlights in different ways. I tried high intensity LEDs - soldering them together on a batton, I tried cold cathodes etc...etc... In the end it was far cheaper and easier and more timely to just buy a strip of waterproof high intensity LEDS, they come complete for...

    Hammer Coral

OhZer0, I dont mean to be pesomistic but this really doesnt sound good. Are the tentacles still coming out as normal? Is it still feeding? How long you had it? and what sort of flow is it in? I would of thought anything in there would either have been eaten or stung and rejected. I have a hammer...

how high is to high for a leather coral

I have never done it that way but yes, i guess you could just cut a "pizza" shape from the head and it will probably grow on and main coral will likely grow back in time and heal. I would not cut into the base though or you will risk killing it. very sharp scissors should be the weapon of choice...

green stuff on this guys tank wall

Green Stuff.... They look like a type of star polyps to me, I have 3 types in my tank, it will typically spread steadily around bare rock, up the side of the tank or wherever - looks like grass and "blows to and fro" in the flow of water, a great addition to any reef - easily kept as long as...

how high is to high for a leather coral

leather talk (lol) I had my clowns trying to host my leather until i got them a sand anenome (which doesnt move around tank, only the bottom - so no risk of powerhead fatality), and that used to make it shut down regularly. It maybe "shedding" as you have moved it(?) a typical leather defence...

how high is to high for a leather coral

Hi there, Your leather coral doesnt need to be close to light to grow, in fact leather corals will grow in quite dimly lit aquaria in comparison to other corals. It will grow just as well from the bottom of your tank as it does half way up!! My baby leathers are on a piece of rock on the sand at...

    HELP......is my leather coral dying????

Sick Leathers... Hi, In response to the question about your leather and if you should remove it or not, I would leave it a week and see how it goes. It wont release or rot any bad toxins into your tank, it will have done that already. When they get freaked out or get stung by other...

Just as a point of interest, how are you going to filter this set-up?? If your going to set up a reef tank, and its currently empty, i would strongly suggest you drill the tank and fit a wier with a dorsel and DSB sump as this is by far the best and easiest to maintain, all your skimmers...
