So I have this RO unit I bought online (I use it for saltwater) and I have had it for 18 months. I realise that I (aparently) should change some of the filters every 6 months? I have not changed any so far. I have worked out, however, that it would actually cost MORE to buyt all the filters...

My salt is just Tropic Marin mixed with RO water thanks for asking xD Not too sure how many lbs of LR there are but my LFS helped my weigh it out after I bought the tank - I just cant remember :/ Test kits arent exactly new, but I test at the LFS every time I go and the get the same results...

In reply to ryshark I was only planning on putting one in there actually (with some clean up crew as well) and if the mandarin did manage to adapt to eat most foods I might of added a few other small peaceful inhabitants.

I came down yesterday only to find that every single one of my emerald crabs legs had called off! It's defianatley not and empty shell after molting because I can see it's little mouth flicky things moving and he is dragging himself around the tank! I feel quite sorry for him, and all my water...
