i don't want to sound like a jerk, but bettas do not need veggies. bettas are carnivores. if you want to supplement your betta's diet i'd suggest a frozen food. Mosquito larva is the real true betta food. Bettas eat tons of them in the rice paddies of Thailand. bettas also appreciate live or...

i have only had maybe 2 heaters that were "right"..............just turn it up a little. on the same note, a lot of thermometers are off a little. i have had 2 on the same tank before and found they varried a couple of degrees.

i'll hook you up on a couple if you want them. but mine are a standard color (with the recessive albino gene because the mother is a standard) not albino. and you may have to wait a lil while. mine are not large enough to ship yet.

i don't know about others here, but i had no luck when doing daily water changes. but doing a 50% every 3 days seems to trigger something. i always use normal ol zuchinni from the grocery store. i tried blanching and just raw. i too saw that it makes no diffrence to the fish. so now i just wash...

you are gonna be busy, definatley have some work to do there.............but still a good deal.

i have had pretty good luck breeding them........i have found that if you want to breed them you need to give them a tank of their own (i use a 20 long)...and caves and such. you need to feed them very well. i use zuchinni, spirulina pellets and shrimp pelletts. and do a large water change...

are you following me?!?!?!?! :P aaron and i are on SEVERAL of the same boards........and i had the pleasure to meet him at the ACA in cinncinati........he's a good guy, with a ton of knowledge of the rift lake fish. not to mention a great photographer.

there is a pretty good store in charlotte, if you ever get down this way. it is on south blvd. named fintastic.

as far as fresh water goes, i just don't think any fish compare to the african cichlids when it comes to color. that was one of the things that drew me to keeping them (before i knew about their fascinating personalities)............i have a friend who calls my tanks "poor man's salt water" *LOL*

for now, i'd just sell/trade the 2 larger yellow labs and see how it goes for a while. you have a little time to play with since your fish are around 2" and labidochromis species seem to be one of the slower growing mbuna.

just thought i'd show you my newest guy. a Copadichromis borleyi, that i got from a guy in my local club. he looked a little rough when i got him, because i hear he put up a horrible fight and the guy had to tear his whole tank down to catch him. but he's shaping up pretty quickly.

know this: i hate hate hate hate winter *LOL* only thing i hate more than snow.............ice. and of course, that is the majority of what we get here.
