I picked up a chunk of mopani drift wood today and I have been boiling it for close to 2 hrs. I'll boil it until the water turns dark brown then dump it out and start again. Seriously will the water ever clear up or should I just put it in the tank and run some carbon in my filters for a while?

I am so bummed, I was bringing my 30 gallon tank inside to start setting it up after resealing it, I bumped it against the coffee table and CRACK! I couldn't believe it! :mad: That was my first real on my own tank, I had it before I had Internet. Sorry to whine I'm just bummed:bawl:

I would like to use sand instead of rock when I set up my 30 gal tank, but I'm lost on what kind to get, where to get it, and most importantly how in the heck do you wash it with out washing it away?
