    I wanna see your crypts

it was sold to me as wendtii but it's very possible! it's weird, when the leaves are littler they are bright green, and as they get bigger they get veiny and reddish. but it takes a while. i dunno it's a weird little plant but i like it :)

    I wanna see your crypts

These are mine. The first is C. Retrospiralis, the next are both C. Wendtii. All the C. Wendtii came from one plant i bought. (please excuse the mess, it's time for a PWC :) )

    Pleco ID

im almost positive it's not a sailfin pleco. i've looked at so many pictures and the markings are different. it's an L001 or L022 (same thing) i'm pretty sure. looks just the same.

    Pleco ID

L001 and L022 are the same i think. i think it's that as well. and i feel like my entire tank is a centerpiece :) i do plan on adding some more tetras, however. we've only got one glowlight so we'd like to get him some groupies :D

    Pleco ID

8 ottos, 12 tetras (mix of cardinals, black neons, and one glowlight), and a bunch of MTS. it's a 55g planted.

    Pleco ID

My husband (with my OK) brought this home from the LFS for our 55g tank today... it was sold to him as a sailfin pleco.... is it so? If it is, I may need to rehome this thing....or invest in a bigger tank  A little help here?? TIA :flowers:

    Good to be back

Hey all! I haven't been around in a long time, I thought since I have a new setup I'd share it (also setting up a shrimp tank and have some Qs) We just set up a 55g, combining everything we had in our two 20g tanks. We used Eco complete (black) substrate, we've got an AC 300 and an AC 50...

    55g tank fixer upper

sounds good...any ideas where I need to go to get the glass? I'm assuming I'd have to get it custom cut? if it's pricey, I'd almost rather just find a new top that will fit it as is. at fosterandsmithaquatics.com they have versa-tops, and list a 48" lid, but no other dimensions. can I assume...

    55g tank fixer upper

so we just acquired a used 55g tank for 15 bucks. one of the corners has a couple chips in the glass but nothing that reaches the seal at all. the glass is super thick, too. my concern is that it does not have the center brace piece. it's not missing, it seems it just was not made with one...

    20 gal tank help

starting from scratch would be the best option, IMO. take it all down, scrub everything (vinegar and hot water or a diluted bleach solution) and rinse extremely well. you say you have an established tank as well? steal a hunk of it's filter media and add it to the new media in the 20g to kick...

Community Tank: Fluval EBI with Betta as centerpiece

i've personally found vals to be quite finicky. i can't keep them alive for the life of me. i've tried 3 varieties--jungle, italian, and contortion--all of which have ended in the same results--melting and death :( although they are some of my favs i've given up on them for now. that is a...

    Spin....spin....SPIN... FALL!!

i'm not so sure, wolf, she answered your parameter/cycle question with "IDK". to the OP--do you have a liquid test kit (API or other liquid kit)? if so, can you give us your water parameters (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate)? sorry to hear your fish are dying, but if you give us this information we...

Are Glofish hardy enough for a fish-in cycle?

i've been reading through your threads a bit. i really feel like there is something else going on. i would be very wary about adding fish until you figure it out. do you use dechlorinator when you do PWCs? adding plants is a good suggestion, too, whether fish or fishless. fishless cycling is...

Are Glofish hardy enough for a fish-in cycle?

before you add fish to your tank, just double check everything and make sure there was no toxins introduced to your tank. make sure your ammonia was not scented or have any added surfactants, be positive that no chemicals or soaps contaminated the tank. i know that my first fishless cycle went...

Has anyone ever made a tank lid?

depending on your light fixture and your fish stock (if you have jumpers or not) you could just go topless (haha) my hex tank is topless because i wanted to get more light in. it looks 10 times better now.

    German Blue Rams

i wouldn't put a ram of any kind in a 10 gallon tank. it's just too small. a betta is really the only fish of that size i'd recommend for a 10g. pygmy cories, however, should do fine. you'd want to get like 5 of them so they don't get too stressed. if you had a 20g you'd be good to go for a GBR...

    brown Algae

+1 just try to manually remove as much as you can with every water change and you should start growing back a bit less every time. definitely try to limit how long your lights are on as well, 6-8 hours is good.
