Well I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you there. If you can give me one reliable source that says hyposalinity itself will kill a fish let me know. I couldn't bring myself to kill the fish last night but I woke up this morning and he didn't make it :(

I know what you mean it keeps waving his fins really fast for about a second then its like it has to rest and then build up energy again. This is terrible I don't even want to go in there anymore... maybe I'll just leave it until tomorrow, there are no other fish in there.. I just hate that it...

Still right side up but getting stiffer looking, and whiter, looks like it can only move its fins and even that looks tough :(

Just looked again, pretty much the same but the fish has kinda stiffened up, still breathing and waving its fins once in a while but not moving at all.

It's definitely breathing really quickly. I don't even want to go look anymore though :(

The salinity was the same for a week and a half. I dropped it over 48 hours. Wouldn't the fish die right away if it was due to salinity? It actually made the fish healthier since it wasn't flashing from the ick anymore.

Hey all, I've had my dogface puffer for about 8 months. Eats like a puffer pretty much everything I put in there. I had a problem with hair algae but I cleared that up when my chaeto started growing and a few water changes. Ever since then the puffer has been attacking its own reflection...

It does appear to be similar to lymph.... it just seems smaller than most pictures I've seen of it. It would make sense too cause the flukes were pretty bad I think, the fins were almost completely gone. So the lymph would have a way in. I hope that's what it is... I don't mind waiting for...

So no ideas on what this might be?? :( Now there is the same white spot in almost the exact same spot on the other side of its tail. I just did a +50% PWC and dosed with prazipro again last night but the dots are still there... Fish flashed a few times after the water change but I haven't...

Update on the situation... Fish has completely stopped flashing and its fins are coming back in nicely... but I just noticed a big white spot (too big to be ich i think) on its tail... almost looks like a zit I treated with prazipro 3 times a week apart... doing about a 60-75% water change...

One dose of prazipro and a couple of water changes and no more flashing :D The eye thing seems to be gone too, doesn't seem as cloudy. I'm going to dose 2 more times with prazipro to kill any eggs then in the big tank! Thanks Pat!

Ok so I did big water changes the last 2 days and nitrates show 5. Fish is flashing a lot more now. Seems to be scratching the gills on both sides. Would you treat the tank with prazipro or something, or maybe another fresh water bath? I'd rather not do the fresh water thing again if I don't...
