While I wouldn't be so positive to say without a doubt... Specially without a control or anything. You are dosing nitrogen which it sounds like the product only absorbs certain forums and I would guess youre dosing some kind of nitrate while the product says it removes the wastes before that...

yes anything that absorbs ammonia,nitrites, or nitrates will take away from plants.

Well I still feel that carbon is useless most the time unless youre medicating or some other specific reason.

i agree i was just reading through it and it's just that and sulfur and i don't think our plants care if there's sulfur or not. i just remember this be debated before some people were saying carbon would remove the nutrients and i remember reading it but i don't remember there being any evidence.

Do you all have Amy proof on this or just stuff you heard on here? Not trying to bash or anything but I never found anything definitive.

well yeah is clay but i thought it was hard fired clay like flourite and stuff?

well i started washing off some. it's incredibly dusty but it doesn't look to bad when wet. has a nice mixture of dark grey and rust. should look a lot better than bright white pfs and much better for the plants. does anyone know how long this thing will last.

mineralized topsoil

has anyone use this combo before? i tried finding sms and truface in charcoal but all i could find is aways away and it would cost about 30 to get to my local lesco. but the oil-dri absorbent would be much cheaper. does anyone have any pictures of the oil-dri in tank or any problems with it?

well unfortunately someone elsewhere already told me to put them in the tank so they're already in there. so now whats the best/cheapest to completely get rid of snails and algae from the plants when it's time to transfer?

well width and height wise i feel it's about perfect just wish it was about 2 feet deep instead of 1. not to mention rimless haha :) all i've had so far are the gourami.but they all seem to get along pretty well. the occasional fight for dominance but i guess that's normal for every animal...

it's a 55 gallon too small haha. the thing i don't like about it is it doesn't have much depth not very good for aquascaping. and yes that's 5 pearl gourami. and please excuse the fake plastic rock on the left haha. i plan on redoing this aquarium once i get my 10 gallon settled in.

well i have 65 pounds of gravel in my 55 not sure the difference in gravel and sand but i used a 50 pound bag of sand for my 10 and only used maybe 1/4 of it. maybe some else will chime in but i would start with 50 pounds and go from there. and a lot of people suggest prime as their water...

i checked both those sweet aquatics only has Java moss and Christmas moss, and aqua botanic is down. mgamer offered me flame and weeping moss for 6 each with 4 shipping, do you think anywhere would be cheaper or is that i good price?
