Hi guys So I have a 25litre fish tank. not sure how many gallons this is? Any way I already have: 10 platys 7 mollies About 10 neon tetras And 2 guppies I plan to get 2 plecos as well. Once the plecos are in I wanted to get some more guppies maybe? At least 5? What do you guys think?

It's an 80 litre tank with an aqua flow 200 in it. The dimensions are (in inches) 23L x 12W x 15H And haven't changed anything apart from putting a bubble wall thing in.

Hmm yes maybe I should have mentioned that hehe. Yes there are fish, an oranda, a black moor, a comet and a pleco. The tank has been established for a good 6 months now. It just suddenly hit out of nowhere!

Right so I tested my water in my tank. pH - about 7.5 Ammonia - 0 But my nitrate and nitrite came up high (liquid kit by the way) So I did a water change (about 30%) and after that tested it again and the results were better but still not low enough. Should I just keep doing water changes...

Okay so I have my cold water tank and in it I have my three adorable goldfish and a pleco. The tank is pretty clean so I'm just worried that my pleco isn't eating enough. Is there anything I can do about it?

Oh dear this sounds quite wrong. Maybe he just walked into the fish shop and just picked what he liked. Some shops are bad and don't even ask any questions/intentions before they sell fish. Is there anyway you could take the star fish back and get the heater and stuff plugged in? Have you not...

Well we did what you said, and the temperature is now showing 25C so that's better! And as for a cover not sure what saran wrap is but thanks for the suggestion! I think we're gonna get some acrylic (clear plastic) and fashion a cover out of it, with a box cut out the middle so the filter can...

We have two, one is the bottled drop type (if we're talking about the same thing) and one has tablets that dissolve in the water

Yes it tests for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH. Gonna test the water tomorrow so I'll post the results then.

Yeah we have a test kit, every time we have tested it it's been fine and the fish seem to be getting along fine, there's been no chasing or nipping so far so hopefully (fingers crossed) they'll carry on being fine! Thanks so much for the help :)

The mollies are both female so they should be fine, also we got told that the fish were the right amount for the tank so maybe we need to have a rethink on that. I said that he should just keep the heater he has but maybe turn it up to 26 or 27 to compensate for the open topped ness etc.

25 watts I think, the make is deltatherm, thing is even if we wanted to put a lid on the tank it would be really difficult because of the design of the tank. Not sure if you've seen one but the filter is at the top of the tank and kind of above the sides if you understand what I mean?
