Hello everyone,
My name is chris and I live in tirol, Austria.
I work on corals and Fish for the last 10 years and try to Build a simple and easy to keep system.
My tanks Size:
250x80x70 and 200l sump. A Small frag tank is included to the system.
I use 3x250 Watt HQI, one is out of Order and...
Yes. They Fight together against others. Especially in the evening when they want to spawn. It just Works Cause Lots of Food.
To keep the Water in good conditions I Change 200l a Week and use a Big Protein skimmer. But I still have righ po4 and no3. I found out that in my Case the Ratio between...
But size is not everthing. I saw really pretty Small Tanks.
They Fish are all quite old. With my Experience I would now not put Acanthurus species in my Tank again. Also triggers are Not nice ones if you keep them longer. They Start to swimm Strange ways. Cause of Beeing bored...
I can also Tell you Fish that would fit perfectly! Small gobbys, like trimmas or eviotas, amblygobius hektori or rainfordi, pseudochromis fridmani, Lots of apogons, some pipefish like dorrhyamphus excitus,
Or bangai cardinal, and many many more!
Thats what i said! Top many fish for this Small Tank!!!! Sure!
My posting about the Tangs was General!
I suggest to Upgrade the Tank or get the Fish a better Home. I mean a lionfish is not better in this tank! Right!?
This is my 1500l Tank and the acans are from my Small Tank in thebsame System. My chelmon eats them!
I have One Site where you See the Fish without HQI and the other Side is lighted by 2 x 250HQI with T5.
And fish Feeding on micro Algae will Not Be happy with nori stripes. Neither
With artemia. From Salt lakes.
At Mr. X: have you Ever Been to the sea? What is the propper use of a reeffish in the Sea? Feeding an reproduction! Cest tout!
You are right that Not all the fish Feed 24 hours. But the One we Mostly keep in our Tanks do so. Sure, i don't Know how many algae He Feeds. But there are 5 caniovores. And the Rest?
Sorry dude but you Talk totally nonsense. Please Read some Books about fishkeeping. Prof. Dr. Dr. Thaler is working in them for decades and there are Lots of scientific Books about that Theme!
www.reeflex.net here you find the Size for reeffish! Here in Austria we have Laws for keeping coralfish. Eg. No!! Fish below 200l! Tangs Not below 500. Paracanthurus hepatus. Not below 1500l.
Its Not enough Food but too much fish for 60g.
You should Feed your Fish 3-5 Times a Day. In nature they Feed all the Time.
Most Fish should Be keep in pairs! Especially Tangs!
Sorry its Way to less Food for the fish. You should Feed your Fish 3-7 Times a Day. Unless in Nature coralfish Feed all the time. Its Not normal Feeling your fish only once a Day!
Its better to feed less amount but more often during the day.
Normal reeffish can get quite old. I have a pair of...
There is One possitive effect of moonlight. Fish can see the structure of the reef and it avoids them jumping out if hunted. But normally no Room is that Dark that there is no light!
No sorry. LPS i can just frag with my reefkeepers diamant saw. I had sexual Reproduktion only with some pocciloporidae, stylophoridae and some leather. The Others are more doing a Kind of Polyp budding. Goniporas are losing tissue that starts to grow on the sand.
Tubastreas are also well...
I have lots of them. They can multiply very quick. I don't like them Cause some of them can make webs what especially SPS corals don't like. I would suggest to watch them and react if necessary. They have a Long body like a worm and can close their top hole.
I can guarantee that a. Phalaena will eat them! I am breeding corals and fish for more than 10 Years and this fish is the only fish eating them. Low light wil make them go Away until you turn the lights back on!
I had lots of customers having success with this fish!
Amblygobius phalaena, banded gobby, will active feed on them. It is half true that Cyanos Need higher po4 or no3, the can also exit in a clean water Form. They can also adsorbate CO2 over the Water surface! Low light can cure but wont destinct them!
