    Need help with evil cichlid

    A 55 gal is ok, but i would like to suggest that you go for the 75 gal size.The length is the same, but the extra 5in of depth will greatly increase your chances success with African Cichlids.

    Marineland also makes some very good canister filters. I run a magnum 350 on my 55 with Africans and it stays crystal clear. The Magnum is a good economical filter, that you can get with bio-wheel or without.

    I think its best to disolve the salt in a jar of aquarium water, then add it back to the tank.

    Hey, everyone I'm new to this forum, and forums in general. Guess I'll start by telling you a little about me and my fish. I'm far from an expert, but have been keeping aquariums for about 40 years, and I'm 47. My fish of choice are Cichlids, and for the last 25 years or so African Cichlids...
