Yes it is glass and I tried a razor blade as well it did remove some of it but it will not come off.... its really on there good. My grandfather had it set up for years and I don't believe he ever cleaned the outside on the back so I have no idea how long its been on there but the razor blade...

How do I tell the difference between a mystery snail and an Apple snail... I have two black snails that are pretty large and one very large orange and white snail... the lps said they were mystery snails when I bought them however, the orange one looks like the pics I've seen of Apple snails...
