I have used polyp labs medic for several ich out breaks in my reef with excellent results each time, and the only negative impact was to sponges. The did survive, but lost considerable mass. I won't hesitate to use it again!

When you look at it, we think it's slot of weight, but consider this for a 150gal tank. Weight of water 1350lbs ( at 9 lbs per gallon which is about 1/2 lb heavier than in reality). Let's be absurd and say the weight of sand,rock, stands and gear is the same... Thus a total of 2700 lbs...

You don't need to take the water out. Is a rotti sieve to filter them out, this returns the water to the bucket. Rinse the rotti and put them in you ponie tank. Every 2 weeks filter and dispose of half the water

You can do without the heater, room temp is fine. Take a look at Reed maricultures site, lots of info and the best cultures.

Your mixing volume and mass, apples and oranges. Get a cheap kitchen scale, it will make your life much easier !
