In my tank I have one red tailed shark, five tiger barbs, 2 dojo loachs, and a few ottos. Could I put a group of neon tetras in? Or would they be hassled?

Yeah, I think we have the same problem.

I could just feed them vegitables I like watching them eat them.

In my 30 gallon I have 3 ottos. How many more do you think I should get? Another 3? 5 tiger barbs 5 australian rainbow fish 2 dojo loaches 1 Red Tailed Shark 1 some sort of tetra. Looks a little like an angelfish without the long fins.

My tank is becoming overtaken by algae growing on plants. The algae is growing on the tops of the leaves and is green and hair like. What kind of fish would eat this algae?

Ah, I've been having pretty goodluck with stuff recently so I am willing to take a little gamble.

I went back today and I noticed Auratus and Kenyi Cichlids, aswell as the yellowlabs. What happens if you put more agressive fish with less so ones? Just pester or kill the fish? Do all semi agressive cichlids tear up plants?

Wouldn't want to kill them though before feeding them.

The ones I have seen are not the most colourful fish ever. N/m, the more I look at the little buggers the better they look.

Its ok Pk. When you come to a play where there is a lot of knowledge and ask a stupid question, you can anticipate that you will get some unhelpful replys.

What I meant by the question, was is there a ruel about it like goldfish and tropical fish.

Thanks a bunch for the reply. I was just not sure if there was a rule about it or not as the descriptions I read just listed cichlids as tankmates.

They were a bright yellow, Maybe the Electric Yellow Cichlid. My tank is a planted 30 gallon, 36 inch long.

I was looking on liveaquaria.com and just got the impression that it was best to just have Cichlid tanks. But thanks for clearing that up, now I know what kind of fish I am getting.

Will these fish school together or in separate schools?

You can buy silica sand at places that have oxygen...like they fill up tanks and stuff. Its for sandblasting. I was going to get it but didn't know if the silica was good/bad for fish.
