    Feather duster lost his head

I've heard of dusters losing their heads but never personally have bad it happen. Other the whole double feather head and what looks to be about half an inch of the worm. Is that what it normally looks like? I picked it up and put it back in the tube for **** n giggles but watched it get pushed...

    Any ideas what this is?

This thing in the center of the photo right above the polyps is what I'm wondering about. It came as a hitchhiker on the live rock. I've always just assumed it was a duster but it grabbed ahold of a couple mysis shrimp recently and it forced me to take a closer look. It's got these yellow bumps...

    No clue what this is...

Got a new piece of live rock the other day and just found this laying next to it on the sand. Never seen anything like it... Anyone know what it is or if it's safe for my seahorse tank. It's just a solid disk shell, haven't seen anything moving out of it, or even an opening for that matter

What kind of coral do i have?

I recently bought a frag from this coral at my LFS but there was no "reef" guy there to tell me what exactly it is. It's definitely some type of sps coral and my best guess is it's a type of Pectinia or lettuce coral but still not sure... Anyone else seen a coral like this before?

What kind of coral is this?

My LFS just thinned out their display tank, selling off a lot of frags. I got a frag from this, what I think to be some type of green montipora but there was no "reef guy" working at the time to tell me exactly what it is. I've never seen a montipora with these "towers" before...

    Something ate my electric scallop

I woke this morning to find something ate my electric flame scallop in my seahorse tank. I fed him yesterday and he was completely fine. As you can see this is not the case now. When I first setup the tank I got a piece of live rock that was infested with tiny starfish. I have been removing them...

    Whats this red slime?

I've had this reef tank up and running for years now and have never had an algae problem besides the occasional slight build up on the glass. This red slime appeared a couple weeks ago and I can get rid of it. I've been cleaning it daily but it grows incredibly fast. Anyone know what kind of...

    Are urchins safe?

I've been thinking of getting a long spine urchin for my reef tank and I always do my research before adding a new addition but I've been finding varied opinions. My first question is are urchins safe in the same tanks as clams? I've heard both yes and no. I've also had a recent problem of...

    Seahorses

I was wondering if anyone has ever heard or had luck keeping seahorses with urchins. I've read it's possible but just seems a little risky to me...

    Dirt bottom tanks

I've been planning to start a 55 gallon planted aquarium for awhile now and have begun looking into substrates and came across dirt tanks. Liking doin things as naturally as possible, I've been doin my research on the subject but really haven't found that much useful information. Any advise...
