I don't think they each have their own reflector. From what I have been able to see online, each bulb comes with its own ballast and fixture and needs to be installed in a hood. I need to find out a model number of this unit from LFS.

A LFS is selling this Helios T5 fixture with eight 54 watt bulbs for $300. Another LFS says there are different qualities of T5 bulbs and that these Helios do not put out as much light per watt as the other T5 bulbs out there. Is this true ?

Grndhog, Does the skimmer or Rio 1100 make noise in the sump ? I am putting this 140 gal. tank in my home theater room and need it to be very quiet. Also would it be possible to drill a hole in bottom of cup to drain into a separate container ? MIKE

Thanks Logan, I changed my original post, because it is actually a Berlin Turbo model. It is the basic Berlin Classic skimmer with a pump built in. That sounds like a great idea for the extra mechanical filtration in sump. Thanks again, MIKE

Does anyone use a Velocity silent pump from custom Sea Life ? I want a very quiet external pump to pump about 1300 GPH. I have heard that centrifugal pumps like this will heat up your water. Is this true ? If so what other very quiet pumps do you recommend ? MIKE
