my tap water's nitrates are about 20 ppm and the ammonia is zero or close to zero. I did add the 'RO Right' today as well.

librarygirl, no, i am not adding anything back, except Prime and fresh water salt, and the fish seem to be doing great!

I find myself going the store once a week (been doing this for 6 months now), lugging heavy jugs around etc. The fish really seem to do well with the RO water and my tap water has fairly high nitrates. But am I wasting my time/effort of should I keep doing it?

The health of my fish is my priority...I made the rookie mistake of getting the fish before I knew what I was doing. I am trying to find the best ammonia level to allow my fish to remain healthy while causing the cycle to complete at the same time...I am committed and willing to do as many PWCs...

My FW tank has been set up for 5 days now and I have done 3 50% PWCs so far. Because I have 6 fish in my 29 gal tank I have been doing the PWC when the ammonia gets close to .25 PPM. My question is, should I let the ammonia grow higher to attract the bacteria? I want the cycle to complete, but...

No…I don’t have any aquarium friends to move my fish to at the moment, so I guess I’ll be doing the 25% PWC each night. So, after I get the water out, get the new water treated and up to temp…do I just dump it in there or is it wise to be gingerly/easy with it?
