    African Dwarf Frog question.

It's probably just hiding but it could be that it is in fear of something else in the tank. Be careful with ADF's and power filters, I use sponge filters only for them because they can become caught and drown in power filters. IMO bettas are one of the worst tankmates for frogs. Healthy...

I need bigger... better fish. Any ideas?

This tank is really no where near large enough for a tire track eel. I would highly recommend you trade that in for a peacock eel, which will work in a 55. As long as that eel is in there I definitely wouldn't add anything else. Rainbow sharks might be larger than you realize, it should grow...

White spots on neons tail fin

It's just if it is just ich adding the melafix will only stress them worse. And if it is something else melafix most likely won't cure it. And if the heat is down to 80 you aren't going to get rid of the ich.

White spots on neons tail fin

What has happened with your neons has happened to me with otherwise healthy neons during ich treatment. Atleast the loss of color and death. Can you post a pic?? I keep my CPD's around 70 degrees..I'm not surprised to hear of that loss either during a heat treatment. IME melafix really isn't...

Possible Beta tank and do I need to trim tank?

Perfect home for a betta. It will absolutely love it just as it is. If only every betta was so lucky!!

My name is alex and i have a problem..

Yeah they should change the saying from breed like rabbits to breed like killies! I very rarely see these ones wild caught because there's just no need..which is wonderful! :)

    Lps snails in plants ?

Uh..they need to be stocked in groups and grow to over a foot so the average tank isn't going to work for them.

My name is alex and i have a problem..

I've never seen them for sale full grown. If you don't believe me research the species and you should be able to find it's max size from several sources. ;) That sounds perfect, killie fry do as well hiding in rocky substrate as they do plants.

My name is alex and i have a problem..

Okay at that age if they were in a 20 gal they may have reached full size but maybe not yet, and keeping them in a smaller tank slows their growth. Those fry are the best little hiders out there!! Hornwort works really well for them to hide in. They only seem to eat them within the first few...

My name is alex and i have a problem..

Yup that's what I have. From the pic I'd say that isn't full grown yet and, if none of them have exceeded 2" then definitely not. The females will get larger than the males. Most females will reach 3" and have a nice thick body. The males stay a bit shorter and slimmer.

    Stocking ideas?

No albinos for the 14, they are one of the larger cory species so for them I'd go for something with the footprint of a 20L or 29 gal as minimum. Dwarf cories (habrosus) are perfect for smaller tanks like this, but I'm not a big fan of anything larger. Some do feel that panda cories are OK in a...

My name is alex and i have a problem..

I'm not sure if you've seen any full size yet...they get pretty big, the biggest of the seven species of killies I keep anyway. Also there are several different species sold by the name gardneri and mine might just be bigger than yours. Still if you keep just a trio that should be OK in a 10...

My name is alex and i have a problem..

I've been keeping and breeding gardneri's for a while, as you've discovered they are really easy to breed! lol Also, as you've discovered, they are not community fish. I keep all my killies in species only tanks because they can be terrors. Gardneris are too big for a 10 gal though. I keep my...

    Betta eating mealworms

Even the smallest mealworms you can buy are much too large to feed a betta, and they are lacking in nutrition. Pick up some frozen bloodworms instead. :)

    Stocking ideas?

A 14 gal has the same footprint as a 10 gal, so your kuhli loaches would be much better off if you move them to the larger tank, and also add atleast 3 more of them. Most loaches should be stocked in groups, about 5 or more is good. Given a proper sized tank and some buddies they are so much fun...

What fish would do well in my aquarium?

Can you provide the dimensions of the tank please? I'm not familiar with 18 gal tanks so I'm not sure on this. This will be just as important as gallons when it comes to stocking. Take that 8.0 pH into consideration. Some species, the sparkling gourami for instance, are highly unlikely to adapt...

Larva in my lid. What is it

They are just insect larvae and are harmelss. Just clean out the lid. ;)

White spots on neons tail fin

Hey what kind of killies? Unlikely that it's ntd. Sounds typical for a neon with ich. The color washing out is definitely normal. I've only lost two species of otherwise healthy fish to ich during treatment: neon tetra and orange hatchets.

Good aqua scaping and possibly stocking ideas for a 30 gallon tank

Do you have a freshwater master test kit? What I've gathered from your other threads is that you have a bunch of guppies, a molly, a dwarf pleco, and a couple cories all in a 10 gal tank. That is really pretty hideously overstocked so I just want to make sure that you understand the nitrogen...

Good aqua scaping and possibly stocking ideas for a 30 gallon tank

Woah, I'm hoping all of those fish aren't actually in the 10 gallon right now... Also adding them all right away to a 30 you just purchased is too fast. You should stock slowly. I'm assuming you are doing a fish-in cycle which is fine, if done properly, but adding a bunch of thick bodied...

    Changing filter cartridges?

You'll have to change it out eventually. When you do, for the type of filter cart that most power filters use, rip atleast a good chunk of that outer layer off and shove it in with the new filter cart to help seed it quickly. Do not do a thorough cleaning of the entire filter at the same time as...

    Crab set-up with Kritter Keeper

Well I have MTS and various other snails in all of my tanks so I rarely complete a water change without sucking up snails. I siphon into buckets so I do pick them back out, but I imagine those who use a python or similar vac system just send them down the drain or outside or whatever..
