I've been throuh 2 balasts in 10 months...is this normal? Its a small balast for a 20(vertical)g set up. Any info would be helpful. Thanks

I have a 200 buck budget for a protein skimmer. My tank is a 20 gal tank with only 2 little fish (one goby/one blenny) 2 shrimp(one coral banded/one pepp), lots of hermits, lots of rock and several different kinds of polyps (and one sprig of kenya). Whats the best I can get? Thanks!

Yes, I've read the bottle (its in my fridge). And I wouldnt say it was all bunk...it seems to be helping. A friend has had some really good exp with it and bought it for me as a gift to help kill off the hair algae and thus far, its working really well. So, general concensus aside, anyone have...

So far, it seems to be killing off all the hair and brown algae in my little 5gal nano tank..and the coraline algae is covering a good chunk of a previously bare piece of rock. I've been using it for 8 days now. Anyone have any thoughts or experience they could share? TIA:)

This evening, I had fed some shrimp to the tank inhabitants...and a piece ebcame lodged under a piece of rock. Later, I saw a red furry worm curling around the piece of shrimp, eating. It is lovely, but I fear it is harming one of my corals. From what I've seen ont eh internet it looks exactly...

Thanks for the input..but again, I am on a good schedule of feeding and don't plan on changing it..that was not my question...my question was: What would happen if you did? Purely out of curiosity, not asking for feeding advice. Thanks.

Recently, My pink tip decided to venture a bit too close to te intake as well. I just turned the power off to the intake...(you can even just pull the intake tube off the main unit if you are leary of turning off your filtration entirely..but make sure that you put a vented cap on teh...

The reason why I 'assumed' he was a GOBY was b/c of the following: double dorsal fin fused pelvic fin which he can perch on the side of the glass (he does this rarely) He also HOVERS...in the water column His favourite place is to sit among the branches of a very small soft finger coral He even...
