    1cm white worms swimming around?!

Hey guys! I just noticed in my 20 gallon planted, there are 2 small white worms swimming around! I have a crew of tiger barbs and some cories and they don't seem to be bothered by them. The worms are extremely thin, they look THINNER than kite-string. They are about 1cm long and wiggle...

    Best algae eaters?

    Best algae eaters?

Hmm... I do have some driftwood in there that i'm sure he'd love. Alright guys, you've convinced me. I just need to find one now! I think i'll get an SAE and a bristlenose. That should complete my tank pretty well. The Local LFS will happily special order fish for me with no additional...

    Best algae eaters?

I don't really have a big algae problem, but i really love watching these guys on top of the leaves of the plants busily at work. I am considering getting a few more ottos so they all feel more comfortable. Are SAE's really that good? I've had a run in with BBA before, wasn't fun. They don't...

    Best algae eaters?

Hey guys, I currently have an Otto and 2 flying fox as my algae eating crew. I at one time had a chinese algae eater, who was an ALGAE EATING MACHINE until he grew bigger, then he was just angry. He ended up in my 125g non planted tank. There's enough algae in there for him but he prefers...

    Jack Dempsey loves almonds?

I made some frozen fish food myself and put a whole bunch of almonds in the blender with the mix. Its still in the freezer but maybe he'll like that. If not, well he's gunna have to learn to like it!

Jag laid some eggs. JD is looking pretty suspicious.

Hey there guys! My giant Pacu was moved out of the 125g, and about a day later the Jag and the Jack Dempsey began fighting. They were lip locking and argueing and what not, so i kept a close watch on them, and reorganized the tank and added a bunch of caves and hidden pvc pipe fittings, etc...

    Hot Pond brainstorming!

Great ideas, thanks! Unfortunately, well, fortunately i guess, the Pacu is gone. I went on Monsterfishkeepers.com and made a post to see if anyone could house him. A man named Glenn just happened to live 20 minutes away. He has a 150g right now and is getting a 300+ gallon tank in February...

    Jack Dempsey loves almonds?

My jack used to eat flakes and cichlid pellets like a normal little JD. But I used to feed my pacu almonds every other day as snacks, and the JD would quickly grab the ones the Pacu missed. Now all the JD will eat is almonds. What the heck?

Giant Pacu needs home near CT. (surprise)

It was a good looking specimin. On another note- The JD seems to be quite an a saucey little feller. He has habitually bullied the Jaguar Fish, who is at least 3" bigger than him. The length isn't really important as the Jaguar Fish's mouth is HUGE. The JD kept pushing and provoking the...

Giant Pacu needs home near CT. (surprise)

I will miss him, but getting a chance to actually landscape a 125g is AWESOME! So many possiblities now! A guy named Glenn came and picked him up, we both got soaking wet, but the fish seems to be happy. I'll have to check in on him in a few days to see how he is. My Jag and JD feel...

Giant Pacu needs home near CT. (surprise)

The place we got him would probably have taken him, but they shut down last year. The Life Gallery in Fairfield CT. That place was SWEET. The Fish will be a success story somehow. I'm just not sure how yet. How much would it be to airmail a big fish? hehe

Giant Pacu needs home near CT. (surprise)

Great! Thanks for the help. I'll have to give that LFS a call. He's more like a family dog than a fish at this point. He also enjoys 50 micron filtered water at 1000gph turnover rate.

Giant Pacu needs home near CT. (surprise)

Hey guys, Well, my pacu grew to immense sizes, as to be expected. We got him small, for our 55. He's now in a 125g and is WAY too big. He's almost 2ft long! Although he's great as a trash compactor, the tank needs constant vacuuming and cleaning, and our entire living room is a splash zone...

    Goofy JavaFern growth..?

I need to go to the store and buy another pound of sugar so i can replenish my DIY co2 set up. Its amazing how effective it is! Oh, and Lonewolfblue, your ideas about co2 mist are entirely accurate. Works wonders. I think i'll just supplement with an extra dose of excel until the co2 gets...

Sweet! Thanks everyone. I'll have to let these things grow a bit more and then start my magical forest of java ferns.

    Goofy JavaFern growth..?

I got this guy at Petco! I thought it was just going to die off. There's got to be at least 6 little leaf+root thingies growing on the plant. So do these detatch when they get heavy, kill the leaf, or just sink the leaf to the bottom and start growing? I wouldn't mind taking them off and...

    Goofy JavaFern growth..?

My javafern is growing new leaves in a strange way. I was wondering if it was normal. On a few of the older leaves, there are new leaves growing out of them! There's even a small brown root structure on the bottom of the new leaves. Its like they attached themselves from another plant or...
