what is this on my copperband butterfly fish. its on the other side, he also is only stay by the top of the tank. is this from my fish fighting or what im really concerned. pl

i just take my water sample to the fish store once a month and they test it for me, i am gonna buy some of those test kits tho, yesterday they said all my lvl are perfect, its just my calcium lvls are to high.

and my salt lvl is at 1.021 ppt. okay i just did a test on my tap water, and as soon as i did the final test it read that my calcium lvl is below 20 ca2t. so i dont know what going wrong. :(

my calcium is 500 ca2t. i just did a 40-50% water change. no stores in my area sell that water, all they can do is sell me that special filter, i found a grocery store that sells reverse osmosis water, should i use it, it has all the bad stuff taken out of the water i asked the manager.

i found out what the problem was, my calcium lvls were really high, and started to make my water milky looking, the only reason it looked green was because my glass was covered in algae, once i cleaned it the water was more milky then green, other then doing water changes how can i lower my...

okay, but can i do without it for now at least, or is that a pretty big need for my tank, wow i cant believe how much more i needed to know dam, thanks guys for your help i really needed it.

i dont have a sump, is that a filter. all i have is a protein skimmer cause thats all i was told, that i would need, is that like a filter or something??

could it also be from having my light on to long, i have it on for like normaly 8-9hrs a day is that too long??

i have 5 fish 1 male and 1 female cinnamon clowns a cardinal a gobby and a yellow tang, as well as hermit crabs and 1 snail. do salt water tanks need filters, or are protein skimmers okay???

also how often should i do water changes, some people at stores say none some say do some, im confused lol

okay, do stores like sell tablets you can drop into your water, or is there only those filters

okay, if i buy more snails would that also help, but i will do more water changes, but i cant afford that machine just yet lol, any other tips to help control and get rid of it

there coralife bulbs i have 2 of them cause i have a 4ft light fixture. there 65 watt with the blue and white colour

oh okay no i dident, im new never heard of that, im trying to learn more before buying anything else, could my light also cause it i just found out that my lights are 3 years old, is it true you need to change you lights 1 a year??
