Can't tell much from the picture but the description sure did sound like anchorworm. They bury the head inside the fish and indeed hard to pull out. Looks like you have a bad outbreak. How many of ur fish have it in total?
They are actually very hardy fish that unfortunately starve in most tanks. Check out Ora. They claim to have bred mandarins that will eat frozen foods.
Yeah 20 min. The larger it is the easier it will be to keep the water stable. If you are planning mainly the types of fish you have now, a 29 should be ok
Have not heard of them infecting snails and shrimp. Moreover check that the meds you are using don't have copper otherwise the inverts won't survive it.
Get a small net and grab the fish in it. Bring the net to the surface but not all the way out. The fish should naturally flip to it's side and you should be able to grab the worm. They are nasty buggers though and guppies are delicate so success is far from guaranteed. The med recommended are...
It depends. Keep testing. A fishless cycle is best but too late for that. Once ur tests start to come in normal( 3 weeks maybe?) you can slowly offload the chromis and add either a shrimp or goby.
