I think lots of keepers use ceramic rings. If you choose that route, be sure to establish your rings in your tank before you dump your other media or you might mini cycle.

I'm going to venture a guess and say that the output on the screw in LEDs are not going to support any high light plants but I have seen them support lower light plants. Which bulbs did you have in mind?

It CAN polish some scratches to where they can't be seen but generally you need polishing compound for glass. I think the general rule is that if you can feel a groove with your fingernail, you can't get it out.

Rounded corners are created with a router and the corresponding bit. There are also other bits you can use for different designs. If it's just a flat bevel, you can do that with a tablesaw. Can't wait to follow this.
