    Dying colt coral!

Woke up yesterday to see my colt coral in horrible shape.. I can't understand what could be happening to it, but now it's dissolving. What should I do?

    What is this??

Had one of these worms in tank about a year and a half ago but before I could catch it, it dove into my anemone and was gone in the blink of an eye. Both that time and this they came out after lights out.. Only two I've ever seen! They dart around the tank fast.. Pretty quick for their size...

    Black Cap Basslet

Found him dead this morning. Sure would like to know what was wrong with him. We really liked that fish.

Sump is making too much noise

I wouldn't raise the water level. I had the same problem with mine so like like Ingy is saying, I just put a piece of 1" PVC on the other end of the bulkhead and extends into the water. No need to change anything else.

    Black Cap Basslet

Refreshing this... Basslet is still getting worse.

    Black Cap Basslet

I've been noticing my basslet slowly getting skinny but it's belly looks big. Also, it has a hard time swimming down. I thought it may have issues with its swim bladder. It just swims weird over all. I feed frozen mysis every other day to every 3 days. He eats great and isn't timid at all. All...

    Catastrophe!

    No. Pumps all run constant.

    Catastrophe!

Temp doesn't fluctuate much. These led's run really cool. I leave the canopy lid open too because I'm getting some mold growing inside the canopy from the humidity. Still have to put some circulation fans in it. Probably just some computer fans.

    Catastrophe!

Also about the clones, it's funny you mentioned that too. They went straight for the bottom while the mother sat at the top on my PH all day until lights went out. Then it crawled across the tank and into the overflow. Yes I do feed a small silverside once a week.

    Catastrophe!

Doesn't the ph drop when the lights go out? You reminded me of something I remember hearing before...

    Catastrophe!

Ok, so just as I predicted the lights went out and this anemone went on the move once again. I had to go out and run an errand and when I returned the nem was no-where to be found. I looked into the overflow and there he was! Just got done pulling it out of there before it was nearly sucked into...

    Catastrophe!

Don't know if I was clear about my BTA's activities. It finds a spot it likes, settles in for a couple weeks and then moves one day the minute my lights go out. Lights come on, and it finds a spot it likes and sits still until the lights go back off... Right now, the thing is perched on a power...

    Anemone help!

It took about 3 days, then it went back into hiding for a couple days and then came out. They like to find a good place for their foot to attach. They don't like it to be exposed to light. Water flow, and light intensity have a lot to do with where they go. It may move around for a little while...

    Anemone help!

When I first got mine it did the same thing, but eventually it came out looking for light. I think if it gets stressed enough under there it will come out looking for what it needs. Even if you could turn the rock over he may go back into hiding. The problem with these critters is that they go...

    Catastrophe!

That's what I was thinking. LFS is gonna give me store credit for these guys.. Score!

    Catastrophe!

Because one anemone is more than enough for me, let alone 3 or 4! I think it's splitting off another little guy now... I'm just gonna take them to my LFS. Not sure why the nem would be stressed except that it got chopped up in a power head a couple weeks ago. All parameters check out. Been...

    Catastrophe!

Holy crap! Scratch that last post, there's now 2 offspring! I've gotta remove these guys but they aren't healed up from splitting yet! What should I do???

    Catastrophe!

Update on nem! Woke up this morning and found that it has split, but not in half. It looks like it tore off the part that was heavily damaged by the power head. It crawled up the glass last night to do this. Weird! Here's a pic.

What kind of coral is this?

Lol. Thanks again... I'm gonna call them some type of paly for now. Or how about a paly-nem! Even better! Lol

He died last night. Made it 4 days after being squashed and half eaten by hermit crabs... Certainly went out fighting all the way! RIP wrasse.

    Huge algae die-off??

Will start checking and dosing mag. As for the water, yes It's RO/DI and I buy water at my local LFS. My problem with the LPS and sps is that when I started this hobby i had a 29 bio cube and so much of my sps and LPS are on the same rocks and have grown around each other. I can't put the LPS...

He's still alive... He lays on the bottom and looks around as if he's paralyzed. His tail is deteriorating. He really looks bad...

    Huge algae die-off??

Sorry for the late reply. Maybe I should be feeding phytoplankton. I think you're right about them being shocked by the intense lighting but that doesn't explain the coralline algae die off. I've still had no new growth and its been a couple months. My chaeto is doing great though.. My calcium...
