this is far out there but just an idea, at places like Home Depot or Lowes they sell a brace for mounting a ceiling fan between two beams of wood. you drill like a 3 or four inch hole in your ceiling (enough to stick your hand) in between the two wood studs (using a stud finder to get the...
Hello, one of my clown fishes is losing his color. I purchased him about a week ago, I have had another clown fish fire about a month and wanted a second. My first clown fish Is a lot bigger and won't let the new one come near him and won't share the two bta's. so the new guy is kind of left out...

Can someone send me in the right direction with this coral, i bought it a month ago and has grown a considerable amount, i want to do some research on how to possibly frag it. i forgot what the name is and my LFS where i bought it is a bit of a drive from my house.
well i don't think it was shedding, larger pieces started falling of and it looked like it was dissolving, i could see a sack of some sort where a big chunk of flesh fell off. i decided to play it safe and just get rid of it before it would damage other stuff by polluting the water

Hey newbie here from Tucson, any good salt water fish and coral stores in Phoenix. I like the one here in tucson but its the only one in town and their selection runs out pretty fast.
i have been using API saltwater and reef kits for the test, with the test vials. and i have been using Purple Up to get some coralline algae going, not in the last few days though.
ok so nothing out of the ordinary, 0 amonina, 0 nitrite, 0 nitrate, 8.0 PH, salinity is 1.025, calcium around 480-500. the only one is carbonate (KH) at around 143ppm, is that too high?. temp is at 77 degrees. Anything else i can check???
thanks for the speedy responses, i get my saltwater from my LFS, its a 50g tank so i do 10g changes and have never had a problem its good quality water state of the art RO system and the water is always aerated. it usually doesn't get so cloudy but i cleaned the sand/ gravel, scrubbed some algae...

So my tank has been up and running for just about 3 weeks, and over the last few days the ammonia and nitrite were barely reading. The spike of ammonia got to about 4ppm and the nitrite to about 5ppm, and the nitrate got to about 40ish ppm. Today everything is reading 0 all accross with ph at...
