    Starfish????

Thanks guys. I'm not sure if it's static or moves about. Until today I hadn't seen it for a month or so which makes me think it moves. Was kinda hoping it was a feather star. Been looking everywhere for a pic to id it, but can't find anything like it. What you can't see in the photo is the...

    Clowns hosting

Hi, I think my clowns have taken a liking to my hammer coral, and are starting to host it. Is this going to cause a problem for either the coral or fish? Thanks for your help, Joel

    Wonky tank

My 95 litre aquarium has always had about half a cm difference in water level from one side to the other. Obviously the floor isn't quite straight. It's been set up and running for about 5 months. should I be concerned about this??? Just wondering...

    Eye problem

Thanks guys. Tank was cycled, but not sure about params. Hopefully this general tonic might help stop infection. Says it treats a wide range of things. Will give it 5 days and go over to do a water change, and see how things are. I think it was an injury that maybe got infected. Such a shame...

    Eye problem

My friend has a freshwater tank with 3 fancy goldfish in. Last week the oranda had a kind of bruising around it's eye, and the eye buldging. The eye developed a White film over it which came off this morning together with the whole eye! Is this likely to be the result of an injury or something...

    Stinging Leather toadstool!

Hi ricksreef, it's typical, not doing it tonight! I have googled spaghetti worm as per your suggestion, and it's not that. The tentacles are very fine, more like long filaments. When they touch something, they quickly retract, then go back to drifting in the current. I think they might be...

    Stinging Leather toadstool!

Melosu, I have carbon in the sump, so hopefully that will help with the chemicals. Do you think the tentacles are of concern to it's neighbours? Fully outstretched, the tentacles are at least 20-30cm.

    Stinging Leather toadstool!

Thanks guys. Ricksreef, I'm sure they are not feeders, they look like long thin thin threads with smaller threads along the length.

    Stinging Leather toadstool!

Has anyone had any experience with a stinging leather toadstool? This evening, it's sweeper tentacles are the longest I've ever seen them. How dangerous are it's stings? Gonna get it out if it's gonna damage everything else. Any suggestions? Cheers

    Fresh water dip????

Ok, mushie dipped in warm ro water, it's now back in the tank, and looks like it's spilling it's guts out. Is that right after the trauma? Cheers, Joel

    Fresh water dip????

Thanks. I think I'm gonna dip in fresh ro as our tap water is really hard. How long should I bathe them for?

    Fresh water dip????

Hi guys. I hope someone can help. I recently acquired some hairy mushroom frags. After about a month of having them, I noticed some flatworms on them. I'm 99% sure they are flatworms, and after close inspection am sure this is the only coral affected. I will be able to remove the frags for...

I have just got some new coral frags off a friend

Im worried about the piece of live rock being directly on the sand. Will these cause a bad build up underneath?

I have just got some new coral frags off a friend

I have just got some new coral frags off a friend including a small piece of live rock about 15cm in diameter and 3cm thick with some mushrooms on. Will this be alright directly on my sand, or do I need to get it up off the floor of the tank?

    Biorb life nano project

I don't have sand. Used the bi Orb ceramic media as the base. Then built up live rock in a semi circle around the back of the filter so can get the filter in and out. Coraline algae is growing over the ceramic media, it's fab. I use the fresh water filter cartridge, and take out all the...

    Biorb life nano project

I have a bi orb (the bowl type one) with marine set up. I use the led lights and am successfully keeping a number of soft corals. These tanks are quite popular here in the Uk, lots of people said I wouldn't be successful with a bi orb and marine, but I have proved them all wrong!

    Shrimps

My dotty has a right attitude, quite funny really as his facial expression says it all! Beautiful coloured fish though.

    Shrimps

Hmmmm, back to the drawing board. Thanks for your help though.

    Shrimps

It's such a shame because the dotty is so beautiful, but at the same time I know how valuable the shrimp are. Not even a coral banded shrimp??
