    Compatability question!

There always is that chance of everything not going well when mixing species of clowns. They are labeled as semi-aggressive, it is said that they will fight till only one species remains, but that is not always the case. But there is still that chance.

My New 29 Gallon Oceanic Biocube

The sexy shrimp are so small, I wouldn't be surprised if they would bully them to death. But if they are small damsels you might be ok. You might be able to get away with cleaner shrimp, they will also help with the health of the fish. As far as the angel, it is hit or miss as far as them doing...

My New 29 Gallon Oceanic Biocube

The angel beauty can nip at corals. Some say the won't if fed regularly. Damsels are aggressive fish as well. They might bully the shrimps.

The drip will usually take anywhere from 45 min to an hour. Depends on the fish..

My New 29 Gallon Oceanic Biocube

Ok!! Whewww! I saw the bag in that pic. You really only have to drip them. Like an iv drip. The water temp will come to temp with the drip. And don't add the store water to the tank. Fish them out with a net. You can (not always) run into trouble with mixing store water into your tank.. Good luck.

Did you temp acclimate the fish, or did you drip it? Make sure you drip the fish, not like fw. A total different ball game here on the dark side. Lol..

    Whats up with my nitrite/nitrates?

Well the NO3 will be down, but it would look like a jungle. Meaning that the tank can get over run with it. But if thats what you want, then it will be fine. When mine grows I will sell it, by cutting pieces of it off. In any case it is good to have in the tank...

    Whats up with my nitrite/nitrates?

You can buy chaeto algae and put it in your tank. I usually put it in with my rocks where it looks natural. BE CAREFUL with this, because it can spread through the tank. You can take a plastic container and poke a bunch of holes in it where water will flow in and out of it. Have it float in the...

    Fish list help

Yes.. You can buy a bag of around 2lbs uncooked shrimp from Walmart for around $5. I use the rest for feeding. Mixing it with mysis, vitamins, and a few other things to make on heck of a messy smelly paste form of food. My guys love it. Just be sure it's uncooked..

    Whats up with my nitrite/nitrates?

I would take a little more (say 10 lbs) of the base rock, and replace it with 10 lbs of LR. That is a huge jump with base to LR. It takes a few weeks for the rock to convert over. That's what I would do, but I also do not know how long it has been in there already. So you could be good by now..

    Whats up with my nitrite/nitrates?

First, you need a lot more LR for that size tank. As far as the spikes, when doing the shrimp cycle. As the shrimp decomposes it will jump start the nitrogen cycle into your tank. Meaning you will see high spikes. When the shrimp smells that is when you take it out. As long as you had one...

    Fish list help

If you use a LR and non-LR mix. It will all become live after time. But be sure you use LR as your base to cycle.

5 or 10 gallon nano reef, first saltwater

Bruin is right. Sw is not cheap. In a 5-10 gal nano you should be able to get away without a skimmer if you are doing coral. But that means more water changes!! Honestly, doing smaller tanks are harder for beginners than larger ones. Fish and coral will grow. In a 5 gal tank, your live stock...
