Unfortunately the lfs has already sold just about all their tanks. I'm not sure how much he wants to jump into it at first so would it be better to set up a couple tanks with individual equipment to start instead of getting a central filtration system and then graduate to that as business expands?

The only other pet store in the area is petsmart so it wouldn't be hard to have a selection of fish that varies from what they offer. I greatly enjoyed the variety the closing store offered they just didn't run the business effectively.

I have 2 striped rapheal catfish in my 55. They are very laid back one shares a hiding place with a pictus and a clown Pleco while the other shares with a albino bristlenose Pleco and sometimes the clown.

When I moved back in August I had a 4 hour drive to transport my 55 gallon tank and stock. I used a couple of 5 gallon buckets with lids. Filled them about 3/4 of the way then put in a couple fish and put the lid on to keep from splashing. I had no causalities and they are all doing well

All Plecos have different temperaments. You can have one that behaves completely different from the general behavior of that species. It seems like your just happens to be more aggressive and have a taste for algea or he was pretty hungry. Your Pleco has great coloration. I wish I had one.

I have keep 2 mature male bristlenose Plecos together with no aggression issues. Recently I moved one of them to a different tank for breeding. Hopefully with enough space and hiding spots they will not show too much aggression towards each other
