    You need calcium to keep the purple(coralline ) algae. Your calcium level should be around 420ppm. With good salt mixes combined with regular pwc's, you probably won't have to add anything.     Seahorses are hardy species. The hard part is feeding them because they mainly eat live food.

    Thanks to a blenny I caught tidepulling, he ate up all diatoms and revealed what was hiding underneath.

    Thanks guys. Here's another pic of some rock and dead coral. I've been noticing big changes after I put in frags of coralline right in my overflow box, and dosing my tank with Ca @ 420 ppm

    All these rocks shown were all white before and now they and starting to show all sorts of colors. Does this look like coralline algae to you guys?
