    Biocube 14 build

Changed my LR around slightly on my last water change. Here's some new pics! Check out the awesome shells my hermits are finally in! On a sad note my twin spot and maroon clown died of ich. :( black and white clown is in a hospital tank till I'm 100% sure he's ok.

    Dwarf seahorse build!

How many seahorses are you planning on putting in there? I would make sure your LR doesn't have any surprise inhabitants before you add them. There is alot that lives in LR and live sand that can sting and kill the dwarfs!

    Biocube 14 build

So I repositioned my LR during my water change yesterday attached my hammer to the LR. Found out I have a colony of some sort of small shrimp inhabiting my tank!!! Also found another one of these small anemone looking things growing... any idea what this is?

I didn't realize how strong it actually was until a tried removing my hammer coral from its frag mount. It hardens like cement!

    a riyal dottyback nano tank

I work for petsmart and I agree on replacing the filter. The top fin filter line is less than desirable. And if you're not in any hurry to buy, wait a couple months. In december they have a friends and family weekend and you can get 15% off your entire purchase!

    Biocube 14 build

The one my store carries is called "reef epoxy by Boston aqua farms" it should be the same as the ocean wonders purple epoxy.

    Biocube 14 build

My lfs has 2 different options as far as "glue" goes. One is a clear super glue gel which is what I used. It dries in 15 seconds. The option is the purple putty (on my hammer ). Its more malleable. If your arrangement will need a stronger fastener I would go with the super glue gel and on the...

    Biocube 14 build

Thanks. I see you have a red sea Max 34g. Was thinking about investing in one of those. How do you like it? Does the built in Skimmer work well?

    Alecia's New Biocube 14

Looking good!!! I have the same tank and was looking into the media baskets. Do they make a big difference in the filtration? Did you use the one from mediabaskets.com?

    Biocube 14 build

Few shots of the twinspot goby!! Anyone know what that is in the first shot just below him to the right? Is that some kind of anemone?

    Biocube 14 build

Yea the clowns are fighting a little bit but the maroon is the one taking most of the abuse. They are actually not fighting as much as I thought they would.

    Biocube 14 build

Anyone know why twinspot gobys are considered difficult to keep? The guy at my lfs told me it was because they did better in pairs... I just figured he was trying to get me to spend more, because I've always heard they are aggressive to each other...

    Biocube 14 build

So I glued the sps frags to the top of my LR. The purple tree w brown polyps is already starting to branch!!! Zoa's are multiplying!! And added a twinspot goby to help cut back on the excessive red algae in my sand bed. 2 hrs and he had the tank spotless!!!

    Biocube 14 build

Yea I was pretty shocked when I saw it. The owner grows all of his own corals and has $5 10 15.etc... and the store is within walking distance from work so its really hard not to buy frags on my lunch every day!

    Biocube 14 build

Found a biocube 14 on Craigslist for $100 (tank and stand). Its my first biocube and so far I am very pleased! Tanks been set up for about 2 months now and I just bought my very first corals!!! My LFS has a great selection of $5-$10 frags. Stock list: 1 x maroon clown 1 x black and white clown...

    Biorb life nano project

Just installed the powerhead and canister filter. I'm actually pretty impressed by this little filter! There is absolutely no noise whatsoever and it circulates the water very nicely! Took out the Bio media it came with and replaced it with seachem matrix. Nitrites jumped back up this morning...

    Biorb life nano project

Did you use the biorb sw filters with the bubble tube? It seemed like a big task to do with live sand and live rock... filter around the filter to stop the sand just seemed pointless to me. I also have the round biorb with some gold fish for my kids. I don't particularly like the visual...

    Biorb life nano project

The light that is on it came with the aquarium. Its the biorb intelligent led. It has a slow transition from the moon/blue light to the white daylight leds to simulate a natural light cycle. At peak daylight it puts out 6500k and keeps the water temp around 73-76. The depth of the tank is only...
