I have my sump in my garage and had the same issue.... I began looking at the pipe between my tank and sump... One of the fitting was leaking barely.... Slowly enough that it never created any water issues on the floor... But the sat creep on the pipe was building quickly... Anytime salt goes...

Water changes will remove the tap water. There are products that are supposed to make tap water safe to use. I'm not familiar with them. Tap water typically has things like chlorine and fluoride added to it so it's probably best to do a big water change then follow up with more.

Just out of curiosity how long has your tank been up and running? That rock looks super fresh.

You make a valid point ding... I assume if you do frequent water changes your parameters shouldn't drop enough in a weeks time to make that substantial of a difference.

The nutrients your wanting to dose with additives are in the salt. That's why these guys are suggesting water changes.

The salt doesn't evaporate. That's why you replace with Regular RO water.

I've seen lots of snails reproduce in tanks.... I'm not familiar with those... But it can happen.

Had a porcupine die in my tank... I would have had to pull all the rock to get him out and I have a 180.... After a day or two the snails and crabs did their job and cleaned him up... No negative side effects to my reef tank.

How would LEDs not be strong enough?
