    Clown Disappearance a Mystery!

Your clean up crew is enough to devour that clownfish in a matter of minutes, doesn't matter the size of the fish. I've had the unfortunate visual of this. As soon as the fish hits the sand bed dead, it's gone within 10 minutes. Both the snails and hermits will eat any type of food and they are...

    Pests

I'm not aware of any treatments to kill pests that won't also kill the good bacteria on the live rock. I'd just keep close observation and see what type , if any, pests you get. Only a few are actually nuisances, the rest have can prove beneficial to the tank if you're looking for a complete...

Stronger lighting for 7 gallon pico

Not sure what you mean. It's a pretty powerful light when you get 3 strips on there (that's what I have). It doesn't need to run for very long. My live rock colored up very fast with it - lots of life. My mantis shrimp did pretty well with it too. I'd send a pic, but I took the tank down to...

Stronger lighting for 7 gallon pico

I bought the ecoxotic ecopico tank (5 gal) a few months back. It comes with an LED light and then you can add more strips to it. The LEDs seemed to work well. You can order just the light and LED strips on the website under accessories. Check it out: http://www.ecoxotic.com/led-arm-light.html

    NST - Natural Seawater Tank

I think it's awesome! I use Petco NSW (it's actually Catalina Natural seawater from CA and they partnered with Petco to sell nationwide). My tank stabilized so quick. No nuisance algae whatsoever and multiple colors of coralline algae :) It was amazing and the water stayed so clear. Definitely...

Zach's Aqueon Evolve 8 Reef Build

I don't have temperature issues with mine either. Mine stays at 80, which is where I want it. I used an Aqueon mini heater - I think it's 10w. I like the stock light, but I only have a mantis shrimp in mine. I might end up putting the ecoxotic ecopico led light on it later. Good luck with yours...

    Diving in to saltwater

I live in northern Colorado. Live rock is really expensive. I went with dry rock for my entire setup. It will turn live within a few months :) Mine get covered in coralline algae.

    Ordering fish online

I've order online before from aquacon.com. Their policy - if the fish dies (within set time), they will only replace the fish with your NEXT order requiring same shipping method - they will never refund you the money. I've had to do that 3 times and I just have up. Liveaquaria.com has been...

    Black Spots on Clownfish

My ammonia was good. I sold these fish. It was just a pigmentation change. She turned out to be fine.

Introducing new fish to six line wrasse

Hmmm...I've had 3 six lines and never had one become aggressive with later additions, especially if there are already other fish in the tank. Just my experience though. You should be fine with a 75 gallon. I'd just turn the lights off for a couple hours and not feed for awhile.

For Sale: Brand New 100 Gallon Acrylic Fishtank

This tank is over $1000..... However, I would be willing to come down to $600, but the buyer would have to pay their own shipping.

For Sale: Brand New 100 Gallon Acrylic Fishtank

100 Gallon System ll RTR Acrylic Aquarium by SeaClear **This is the tank only...no stand or canopy** It still has the packaging on it from delivery, which is why there are not decent pictures. I can tell that has a cobalt blue background and a built in wet/dry filtration system. I believe it...

    Six line wrasse

Probably just stressed out. They hide really well and six lines "cocoon" themselves at night in the rocks with their extra slime coat. Excellent fish choice :)

    Black Spots on Clownfish

I've gone through a few threads and can't really find an answer. I've had these clownfish for a few months now. I've noticed these spots appearing on my onyx clownfish fins a few days ago. Only one clownfish has the spots. Nothing has changed in my tank within the past few months (well, I did...

    Green "Really Hard" Spot Algae

I'd say coralline algae, as it can be green too. It's ridiculously hard to remove.

    Best hitchiker (just for fun)

Mantis shrimp. Very intelligent, colorful, and full of personality. He was also free and took care of any additional hitch hikers lol :) I named him Manie and he now has his own 10g palace.

    Need help with saltwater fish

Did your tank cycle properly in the beginning? If not, then there is no beneficial bacteria to handle the bioload of the fish, and so they will die. As soon as there is no bioload (the fish die off), the levels drop back down to zero. If you have some readings of nitrites and nitrates, then...

    Advice For My Stocklist

I think you could add one more if you play the cards right. Maybe another bottom-dwelling fish like the yellow watchman to balance it out :) You could do inverts too like suggested.
