goldfish, koi, feeding in winter ?

youd probably be better off not feeding them, or maybe in real tiny amounts and or use easily digestible foods such as wheat germ. they probably wont starve, theres always bacteria and other stuff on the bottom if they get hungry.

pump & bio filters in winter

Yeah no idea, just felt like typing; I apologize for my inaniloquent cacoethes. Though there are some valid suggestions to heed. My only experience is building a bletcherous pond; the liner is yclept: a two dollar shower curtain. It would be crueler if you do not disturb the koi, leaving them...

pump & bio filters in winter

Alright, well i saw your other post stating you "have a heater on hand." You should be able to only use the heater and the pump would not be necessary. However, there is still the problem of your pond's depth. If your fish are expensive such as koi, then I would suggest bringing them in. If not...

pump & bio filters in winter

just saying, your pond might freeze to the bottom. However, if you keep fish, you are going to need a hole in the ice so toxic gases can escape. If your pump is strong enough you could try; a better idea would be to purchase a heater or something to melt the ice and just save ur pump...

    rain

no i turned it off before, but i was kidding i just needed a response. and i turn it off cuz i dont want the pumps to short circuit or something. sorry about that but the rain doesn't look to clean either, it has a bunch of sand or some small particles in it too

    rain

er idk if its a good idea but if its raining here can i just turn off my pump? will the rain be enough to aerate the pond? i dont have much in there; two goldfish and maybe a dozen minnows? in a 35 gallon pond. its shallow so the surface area is decent for its size

    Rock

thanks, i also have some other questions if you happen to know why? I never see my crayfish eat, but they're pretty active. I put some food in and they leave it alone so i take it out after 30 minutes since i dont want it to decompose. I think it might be since i got them in a river and they...

    Rock

I found a rock that comes apart in my hands and I don't think it is limestone. Is it still safe to put in an aquarium?
