For Sale: Multiple tanks, fish - the whole lot!

How much for the Sciaenochromis ahli? How old are they? How long are they? How long have the pair(s) been breeding together? Tank enviorment? Will you ship to California? Either UPS overnight or Airport works.

    Plant Store (online) ??

Hey all. Setting up a new 30gal (tall) tank, mainly small fish and lots of plants. My local LFS charges an outragous amount for life plants. I'm looking for some online stores, where I can buy a good "combo set". Any suggestions? Thanks.

    Wanted: Calupera (in california)

That is correct..... no caulerpa can be sold within the state of California. Thus, the reason why my supply is down. I am only aware of two sub-species of caulerpa that LPS's can even sell... and most LPS's aren't wanting to take the chance of getting something in they shouldn't have. Kind of...

    What is this?

Looks to me like it's a: ventricaria venticrosa, aka Green Bubble Algae. They reproduce by growing thousands of 'little bubbles' within themselves, than exploading out the babies. It's best to remove them via siphoning. Surgonfish, rabbitfish and crabs, and the (ercolania) sea slug's are the...

    Refugium

Yeah, I love my little mangroves :D Almost as much fun (long term) as any soft-coral development :)

    Refugium

No, however CPR sells a light that works very well for them. It's part of the "JBJ Lighting" line. There are two different ones they suggestion. One is a "clamp on" which allows you to raise the light above the top of the regugium, the other sort of just sits on it. I prefer (and use) the...

    Algea: from green to brown?

I thought I saw some gass-bubbles in there too.... might want to think about getting some more circulation as well. More circulation always helps control algae of that type.

    chocolate chip starfish

Ditto that. I've also seen them consume a $100+ clam :x

    chocolate chip starfish

And, what were you expecting it to eat in a 3 week old tank :? Sad to say, you need to take it back, give it away, or it's gonna die. On a personal note: why does the industry even allow these things to continue to be sold? They can devistate an reef aquarium in no-time-flat. :(

found a web site what do you think?

I only wish there were more people willing to do the whole "I'll try you my frag for your frag". It would help the entire industry, livestock, and ocean. We've got more than enough frags in our aquariums.... I think it's about time we start sharing with each other, and buying fresh less.

    Spray Bar Idea

I run a DIY spray-bar in my system. I got a Rio 1700 and about 10-14 inches of PVC. I cap'ed one end, than drilled 3 sets of holes. One just offset from dead-center, one just below dead-center, and one pointing straight down (to help with current along the back of the tank). I choose the Rio...

    Black Substrate

Hello. Setting up a new 25gal system, was wondering if anybody has experiance with black substrate. Looking at having soft corals, and a SmartLamp lighting. Was wondering if anybody has an (noticable) negative issues/affect with using black substrate, as well as the fact that black doesn't...

    Vicious plecostomus!

I've know more than once placo to hound/kill other placo's. Both sub.species and major.species. In a 30 gallon tank.... one is enough, IMHO. The only placo's I've seen actively -attack- other species, (especially gold fish) is when they were really large placo's. (ie: 10"+) Which, anything...

    Movin' on Over!

Wet/Dry's are really for the Fresh-water world, IMHO. While they can (and are) used in the marine tanks, they far excell in the fresh water systems. Rather than running a wet/dry, invest in a very nice refugium!

    Protein skimmer

The faster the bubbles pass through your skimmer, the less 'contact time' they have. In all essance, the faster the water passes through, the less chance the bio-load has of making it into the collection cup. Sure, some will make it in, no matter what, but there comes a point where simply...
