    id have to agree with jetajockey..../\ the moss ball i got is definatley all squishy right the way through but have seen them with marbles etc inside. as above probably quicker and cheaper to grow them like that

    why does the dome need to be air tight?? it would be impossible fro u to have any living plant or anything in there. why not build it to look like its dry but have the door open so that the fish can go and see sandy from time to time :)

    my guess is that no u cant then. like u said a timer will cut the power so the whole system goes dead. best bet would probably be to do it manualy or get a secondary led light for the night

    ive got to agree about the fact that they may not the most effective but then i often find as things are becoming to perfect, to clean, to labour saving, it kinda means u have no reason to play with the tank, personaly im allways fiddling because its what i enjoy :)
