id have to agree with jetajockey..../\ the moss ball i got is definatley all squishy right the way through but have seen them with marbles etc inside. as above probably quicker and cheaper to grow them like that

personaly id never have my tanks without an air stone if nothing else the fish realy seem to enjoy swimming through it and using it to blast them to the surface lol anyway if u find that its realy loud and its keeping u up at night why not put it on the timer along with ur lighting?? having it...

why does the dome need to be air tight?? it would be impossible fro u to have any living plant or anything in there. why not build it to look like its dry but have the door open so that the fish can go and see sandy from time to time :)

my guess is that no u cant then. like u said a timer will cut the power so the whole system goes dead. best bet would probably be to do it manualy or get a secondary led light for the night

slightly suicidal :) siamese fighters are top level fish but i dunno how they will cope with the angels and they do look absolutely stunning, and u can teach them to do tricks :P

heya people, im looking at setting a tank up for the missus and the two fish she most enjoys are neon tetras and siamese fighters (betta splenden) in a 26ltr (5.7gallon) tank, providing its well mantained, gonna have a decent filter air pump, cleaned daily, and water changes nice and often...

i take it the unit runs to a single plug??

ive got to agree about the fact that they may not the most effective but then i often find as things are becoming to perfect, to clean, to labour saving, it kinda means u have no reason to play with the tank, personaly im allways fiddling because its what i enjoy :)

its all opinion people always say they cause more issuses then they solve, but my dad has always used under gravel filters, in big and small tanks and swears by them so its up to u i think

so the running costs are probably miss wayed by the cost of the light initialy :P

source a new heater before the temp drops :P im guessing its harder to warm it then to cool it :)
