    Aggressive Clown

Thanks for you responses guys, if she carries on she's off! Lol she actually grabbed on and ragged at me for a few seconds before letting go today. Think I'm going to have to buy a longer syringe to feed my corals before this turn into a full blown war!! Found myself taking turns with her, jab...

    Aggressive Clown

Hi, I've recently added a nem to my tank and since this the female clown has become VERY aggressive, she will bite me as soon as my hands in the tank and no longer is paired up with the male, she just bites him every opportunity she gets :hide: and then goes and gets snuggled in the nem. Is...

    ID please

Emmmm bubble tips what I thought but I've never seen one look so empty, they normally look full. I bought a small tank which I'm going to use as a quarantine tank and this came with it.

    Coral ID please

Just quick update on the finger coral, it almost looked dead yesterday so I thought I'd try my hand at fragging in a hope that the frag would survive. I've come home today and found both thriving :-). Panic over

    Coral ID please

Is the sting strong enough to kill another coral or will it just knock it back for a few days? I've moved the finger well away now so hopefully he'll start to pick up again. The finger was my first ever coral so I'll be gutted if it dies. Thanks

    Coral ID please

Since the flower pot coral was placed on the tank my finger coral has started to look a little dodgy. It's stopped opening up. Could this be chemical warfare from the flower pot?

Hi I bought a toadstool yesterday and drip acclimated it for an hour. It looked great in the shop but it still hasn't opened up and looks to be curling under at the edges now. Is this normal ? Thanks

    Do I ditch the MH?

Hi guys, thanks for you replies. Not I don't use GFO at the moment. For carbon I have a pillow and a carbon pad in the filter system which are about ready for renewal. Phosphates are showing 0.25 @ the moment. I think my next step is to replace the carbon and look for a phos reactor, do you...

    Do I ditch the MH?

I've had my tank running over a year with no problems. I thought I'd upgrade the standard hood with 4 CP lights built in for a new lighting fixture with 2 x 150w MH. major GHA problems ever since!! I know every will reply with must be too many nutrients, over feeding, more PWC. My nitrates have...

To clean or not to clean!

Thanks everyone, the rock is still in salt water. I'll give it a rinse in that before putting it in the new tank. I hope this one never leaks, this last week has been a nightmare.

To clean or not to clean!

I'm just in the process of putting my new tank together after a leak on the old. My question is; do I take his chance to scrub and clean the live rock before putting it back in? If I give it a shake it's full of sand and debris. If yes, could I do this in tap water or would it have to be RO/DI...

How do people keep their rocks in position with a bare bottom? I do have a sand sifter but I think I'll give him too a good home and go bare this time.

    HELP, Tank leak!!!

Thanks guys, I've moved them to a larger container now wit the heater and power head. I can't believe my luck! If I didn't have bad luck I'd have no luck. I've been in touch with aqua one and they have agreed to send me a new tank over which should arrive in the next day or two. Thinking ahead...

    HELP, Tank leak!!!

Hi I woke this morning to a rapidly emptying tank. I managed to rescue my fish, inverts and two corals which are now in a bucket. The live rock I have in another filled with water. Will the rock stay ok without a pump and heater in? Do you think my fish etc will survive for a day or two in...

Just a quick update just encase someone is getting the same results as I was and wondering why. I've just added a DI canister to the 3stage RO unit and bang!!! Zero nitrates :-) just need to do a good few water changes to get on top of things in the tank. Bye bye hair algae ;-)

Dead Hermit Crab out of its Shell?

I took mine out, only because I was worried about it adding more waste to the tank. It's all new to me also so the calcium thing may be true.
