How to lower nitrate in nano?

I'd focus more on nitrite spikes. That's a more serious problem I believe. What are the readings of each during a typical "spike".

    Clean up crew suggestions

I'm a bit confused and pardon if I didn't read everything above but... You say you have a new tank and have all those inhabitants already?? Also, for a "new tank", that clean up crew list is also likley too much at once. Chances are you've been moving too fast with adding other stuff and...

    Tang compatibility

I agree. No blue tang and the sailfin shouldn't be in a 4ft tank either. I hate'm but maybe a damsel. Very blue and since others are already there first, maybe it won't be too agressive which they can be for such little buggers.

I dont know what species my fish is and i cant see him

No need to tear apart your tank to look for it. Either it wants to hide or is dead. If you've got hermits or other crabs, you won't find much or any fish at all.

    Odd clown fish behavior

Maybe one of'm lost their contact lense?? :) :) Seriously though, they are weird fish. No telling what they're up to.

    Dry rock

So, you're cycling now? How long and what is the ammonia reading at now?

    Dry rock

Dry rock can indeed add ammonia sometimes. Think about it. When its added to water it can re-start a decaying process if stuff is still on it. First, brush it off real good under water with a stiff brush. Test the water anyway after adding it. Never assume that because it's dry, there'll be...

    The big move

Keep extra pre-mixed water after the move in case emergency water changes are needed.

    Purple stuff

Don't rely on animals to hide/eat it. You gotta address the source and fix that.

    QT question

Also, they may be in tanks with copper at the lfs. Either leaving the copper or the stress of being captured, driven home, and re-introduced to a new environment may be an issue that causes new disease. QTing saves money and headaches IMO.

    insects as livefood?

I'd hesitate to feed my marine fish anything not normally in their diet. Just think about pesticides or other things the spider spider may have ingested. Your fish will eat the same thing. Don't do it. PS - mjgj - get tools for your tank dedicated to your tank. Buy another ladle.

    Power head circulation

Can't tell you. It'll be based on the size of the pump and shape of your tank. You're gonna have to play with it to find out what's best for your environment.

    Feather duster dead?

They often blow their crown if stressed. Not a sure sign its dead. Best case - it'll relocate, build a new tube, grow a new crown, and you'll see him again in a few months. Worst case - it blew the crown, tried to crawl around relocate and was eaten by somebody or died of natural causes - and...

Sixline wrasse is getting out of hand

    Not likely to get better.

    Kole tang, oppinion?

There will be issues unless the kole is much bigger than the yellow - which by the way is rated for 6 foot or 125g minimum. Already tight in there for a yellow and to add another tang will mean fights, stress, or worse. I'm even betting your damsels will pick at the new tang.

    Starfish?

Asterina starfish. Not a big deal and they'll never get that big anyway. Might look up one day and have 20 of'm. No special care IMO. So, you consider the tank cycled already? If not, it/they might die off when you shoot the ammonia up.

    How Do Catch My Wrasse?

The way wrasses duck into rock, crevices and other tight spaces...best of luck to you. Traps may work, but I'm seeing a dead wrasse more easily removed or dis-assembling your tank to get him. Let us know how you make out.
