    Diy co2 help

In my experience with it, it was leaks that did it. I tested by putting it all underwater and blowing through the pipes to see where and if any air bubbles came out. Sure enough, around the lids; even if you drill smaller holes than the tubing. Once that's done, if you follow the cookie cutter...

rasbora caught in java wall - urgent

Water parameters are good. Sadly I think I just have to wait and see if he can heal. It looks to be a physical injury so I don't know what else to do

rasbora caught in java wall - urgent

hey guys, I just had to pull a small red rasbora out of the side of my java moss wall, and he's looking a bit out of it. keeps to himself, is looking like he's trying to find a corner to die in. is there anything I could possibly do? he tried to wedge himself behind the wall again. he looks to...

So, the 16g work even though the fluval cartridges are 20g? Is the thread the same? Would love an update on this, as they are only $2 Australian dollars (CHEAP!) I realize this is an old thread but would love it if anyone could advise if this works.

black spots on leaves - help

Not sure what that is. It is starting to look like its slowly going though. I was using my DIY set up for co2 but have now installed my fluval and it seems the co2 is diffusing much better. I believe the problem was probably high light, not enough co2. Fingers crossed it gets better

    what plant is this?

sexy. only trouble is, within a day of being in my tank, I have small black spots developing on the leaves; the same ones that have slowly developed on my hemianthus macra and my java ferns. is this a build up of phosphates? a dirty tank? my water changes have been at least 20-25% per week...

    d'oh moments

so... don't put a molly into a newly set up planted tank (as a secondary measure for clearing some algae) when the plants aren't exactly rooted sufficiently yet. the little guy started eating algae that had settled on some of the plants...and got a bit rough...with ALL my carpeted hemianthus...

    DIY c02

yeah sure thing, the set up or the tank (or both?). the tank looks bland now, as I've had to remove literally all my fern. in the weeks leading up to my getting a co2 device, algae had started to bloom up top where the ferns were. I'll post it anyway but yeah, I'm sad about getting rid of many...

    co2 diy natural,,trouble !!

regarding leaks; using a 2 litre cola bottle I noticed that my leak wasn't through the drilled hole, but around and under the cap. I tested by filling a small jar of water, screwing the lid on tight and blowing into the bottle through the tube. if the bottle expands and no little bubbles: yay...

thank you Welshy; much appreciated. you are definitely reading correctly between the lines :) the DIY route has gone terrible for me, but i won't harp on about that haha i'll try removing that large leaf, it's quite an older one anyway so shouldn't matter if i do; the rest of the ferns aren't...
