Hello, I just got home and noticed what looks to be a shrimps equivalent to a snake skin. I have one orange bee shrimp and 2 amano shrimp. Water conditions are ideal(just tested). Is this normal? Or is there a dead shrimp hiding in my tank :(? Thanks

Thanks, I would probably not go higher. It calls for 2x55W so I probably wouldn't stray from that IMO. The calculation to see how much current the bulbs themselves will draw is a pretty gross complex power calculation ;).

If the 175 is 175Watt then you should have no problem IMO. Because the total power drawn will only be 120Watts. With increased power comes increased current so proceed with caution in the future but in this case it would not be a whole lot. If it was only rated at 110W then I would not...

Mine generally rubs off, must be algae. If yours does not, sometimes brown spots on plants are due to an iron deficiency. You could try adding some iron, I use Seachem Flourish Iron.

IMO they would be fine for an hour, however the bucket(s) water temperature will drop off pretty quick so you will need to reacclimatize them to the tank when you are done rescaping because your tank water will be a lot warmer than the bucket water and the shock will be really stressful on the...

Personally I like to add Prime to the new water before it goes in. I just feel better knowing the neutralization of chlorine/chloramine has already taken place before the water is mixed in the tank with my fish and nice bacteria.

I also use Prime. I have had no issues with it at all! I always add it to water that is about to go in the tank when I do my pwc. I rarely have to buy new bottles as well because it is quite concentrated...which I like ;)
