Any idea what the brown stuff on this coral is?

Just bought this over the weekend. Noticed a couple spots when I was dipping it. I don't know if it is spreading or retracting.

My mp40 just fell off the side of my tank. I cannot get them to reconnect. There is severe vibrations. The propeller has some give in it. Is there supposed to be able to move up and down the shaft?

I was away for the weekend and came home to see this on my Foxface. He is acting normal and has an appetite.
