I didn't think about the molting part. But I can't tell for sure. I got home and saw tentacles sticking out of the mushroom. I could only find 3 out of the 5 shrimps I have in my tank. So that was my first reaction. I had never heard or seen this before. Wasn't sure what to think.
My mushroom ate my peppermint shrimp and I think it has eaten more than this one. I didn't know this was possible. How do I stop it from happening in the future?

Yes I am trying to get rid of the aiptasia. I have a wrasse in my tank that I'm trying to get rid of. Hard to catch. And then I'm getting some nudibranch for the aiptasia.
So this stuff is algae and I don't have to worry about it? Pick off pieces whenever I do a water change.
Tank has been set up for about 2 years. Lights are only 6 months or less old. Running 4 33in 39w bulbs 2 blues, 1 white and 1 red with an aquatic life programmable hood. My parameters are perfect except my alkalinity which was at 6.
I have this mushroom looking stuff growing all over my rock. Started with one little piece and now is all over the large rock in my tank. Is it bad? What is it? How do I get rid of it?
How do I get my 2 Ocellaris clownfish to host my anemone. I have had the clowns for over 7 months and I've just put the healthy long tentacle anemone in the tank 2 weeks ago.

I actually found another approach. I found a 60 gallon set up that has a sump and everything I need. Excited to get it set up. I pick up the tank tomorrow. I'll post a pic after I set it up.
I currently have a 24 gallon aquapod and just bought a 40 gallon tank to transfer into. I still need to get a filtration system and a light. What would be the best and most cost effective choices?
