My clown loach can't get into mts but my sidthmuntki are so much smaller they slurp them out every chance they get.

I agree. I keep them in all my tanks and have given hundreds to friends setting up tanks.

You could always add a sidthmuntki loach. They are small, awesome to watch, and great snail hunters. Including mts, they do a great job keeping my 125 in check.

Don't waste your money on a background, paint it!!!! Those swords should work but don't buy more. Let one prove its got a good hold on the tank and then let the runners it forms fill in the rest. If you want them to work you absolutely need to use root tabs. Check out my thread in the planted...

I've been happy with how all the leaves are growing in, haven't seen signs of nutrient deficiency but I don't think it's anything better than excel. It's been 3 weeks and ill be surprised if the bottle of envy makes it past a month.

People are trying to help you, just because its not what you want to hear doesn't mean you should be giving such short responses. I'm sorry you don't have a tank of an appropriate size, since it sounds like this is your first fish tank perhaps you really should consider neons or platys...

Snails have the potential to leave a tank but usually are more likely to do so when water parameters are too high. I like the idea behind this, did you plan to glaze the clay and fire again? It should be able to hold the weight no problem.

Do it next water change. Makes it a lot easier.

So vent it? oo is a male and oO is a female.

Around the 2 1/2" mark it will be easier, the only true way is to vent them. Females are likely to bring on make physical traits when they are more dominant.

0 nitrates? Is the tank cycled?

Roughly 21 days she will release them and yes she is definitely holding.

Don't feed them for a few days. There is no need to feed them twice a day also.

I love maingano. One of my favorite types of mbuna.

Mine do. The second the lights turn off its a race for their caves. While the lights are on majority of the tank will be over 12" from the sand, lights go off and within seconds they are under 4" from the sand.

While she is holding the snail would be fine. The fry could potentially pick on it but not much harm for the first few weeks.
