    hi guys i'm new

So...I have to ask the question, have you or are you going to return some of those fish? In my years of coming to this site, looking for answers, I have grown to take the advice of these people as gospel. So if they think you are overstocking this tank, you probably are. Since you are new to...

    qt ammonia problems

Yes I have a pvc elbow, and I only have been feeding once every other day. I do leave a clip with some seaweed in it, since I have a tang in here now. Im going to start doing daily water changes, hopefully this will work.

    qt ammonia problems

Ive been having ammonia problems in my 20 gal qt. The last fish I had to take out after a week and a half, because I was afraid the high ammonia was hurting it too much. Now its happening again. Im doing, atleast, 20% water changes every other day, and my levels still dont seem to be dropping...

    Garden hose

Yes Ive heard of companies coating garden hoses with pesticide, to keep the lil buggers out of them during shipping and storage. I was warned about this when I first got into Saltwater 5 years ago. Now I dont know if its true, but it is something Ive heard.

    Red Slime Removal

I had this same problem, from the advice here I used Chemi-Clean and it worked great. What I found out was my problem, was the food I was using. IF you havent already done it, try changing your food. Who knows it might help.

very nice and good luck. Hopefully the wife doesnt know you are using her wedding veil, on Valetines Day, to protect your corals. But if she does, and doesnt have a problem, god bless her.

    Question about Chemi-Clean

Yea I agree totally, and I should have known better, but I was out of food, the wife was going to walmart...so...why not just pick up some, I mean what could it hurt...LOL $500.00 later, now I know what it hurt. Its ok though, it forced me to get off my buttocks and buy the equiptment I needed...

    Question about Chemi-Clean

It was a brand we bought at walmart called Waverly or something like that. Now Im sure others had used this brand before, and nothing happened, but for me it was definatly the cause. Ever since I stopped using it, what cyano I had died, and nothing new has grown.

    Question about Chemi-Clean

Well to add to what I posted before...I found out my root problem. I was concerned when the cyano came back after only a week of me medicating my tank. So I started thinking back to when it first started showing up, what did I start doing different, or start using? Believe it or not, it was my...

    Taking my clown back

Since youre new to the hobby matman I would suggest going to Byerly's in Grandview. They give great advice and the SW fish seem to be cheaper and in better condition than either Jacks or Aquarium Adventure. I wouldnt trust half the people at Aquarium Adventure, but the Byerly guys are great...

    Sale at Aquarium Adventures

Yea I noticed the increased prices when I went this weekend. Looks like they were "preparing" for this sale in advance.

    Question about Chemi-Clean

Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question, but I just want to make sure Im treating my tank correctly. On the instructions it says that I "Must change water (20%) after full treatment." Does this mean, after the chemical has done its job, or right after I treat the tank with it? Hopefully you...

    RO install ?

An RO unit doesnt hook directly to the tank. Its a separate unit, that makes RO water out of tap water. Because of that, you need it hooked up directly to a tap water line. So make sure your RO water separate and add it to the tank when needed.

    Dehumidifer Water???

Thanks for the quick info guys. The whole "airborne" bacteria thing will keep me away from saving and adding this water to my tank. Thanks again!!

    Dehumidifer Water???

I was told that dehumidifer water was in fact RO water, is this true? And if it is, could I save it up and use it for my tank?

    Sale at Aquarium Adventures

Ours in Columbus is having a 30% off fish sale. When I went on Saturday, I was disapointed at the selection they had. Not that I was going to buy a fish, since I currently have my QT in use, but I was just making a observation.

    Lets see some action!!!

In Columbus for SW I usually go to Byerly's in the Grandview area. Prices are better than AA, plus I feel the employees are more well informed.
