Another dead cardinal this morning, his stomach looked bloated a bit. Another one swimming sometimes at a 45 degree angle. Would like to try something besides Melafix if anyone thinks that may be helpful and not just stress them more, anyone got any recommendations? The cory that looked...
I think they were 0, 0, and 20-40 ppm nitrate. The water temp is 78 F, the tank has been fully cycled. I did use a 2-1 ratio of RO water to tap in an attempt to lower hardness and pH for the 1st time on my water change when this 1st showed up two days ago. The water mix was still pH of 7.4...
Alright two days ago I found three dead cardinal tetras. Not to worried as I added five a week ago without a quarantine (I know I get what I deserve!, but I observed them at the store for over two weeks. Yesterday lost four more (UGH more than just lack of acclimation) and one of my Corys...
I just got a dozen cardinal tetras from LFS, they had been their for at least 10 days. I have this one that looks odd compared to rest. I have NO experience with these or neons. Can someone let me know if I should pull this one because he may be ill or if I he is probably just full of eggs and...
Thanks everyone. I have yet to add neon tetras (switched from cardinals). Anyone have a top swimmer recommendation? Dwarf gourami maybe? Are they too shy or aggresive ?
Does anybody have any pellia or better yet mini pellia for sale?
I am not sure how it will ship will dreezing temps now, so I would be willing to pick up if you were nearby northwest suburbs of chicago otherwise a heate pack maybe?
thanks
I want a large school of these, if Petco won't get more, will it matter if I get as similar as possible and hope they don't know the difference. The peppered cory was definitely the odd man out of this group. I like the look of them, but from all the pictures I have looked at I am still not...
I bought these three cory's that were supposedly Julii's at Petco yesterday in a rush. Now I don't think any are. I like the two bigger ones, but not the small one. Can someone tell me what they are so I can buy another 3-4?
Is is possible the smaller one has just not developed his markings...
The filters for my filters have it already in it. I could slit it open and remove I suppose. I should go with a Fluval or something, but I have 10 fillters left and have spent all my money on fish, so a new filter right now is not happening.
Thanks, assuming I get them from Petsmart, would a Neon (captive breed I assume) or a Cardinal (Don't know where Petsmart sources these from) be hardier.
I would like to add a very colorful small schooling fish to go with my mostly black and white fish. I have a 30 gallon with 6 black neon tetras, 2 Bolivian rams, 3 ottos, and 4 corys. My tank is planted with Java fern and Anubias on lots of driftwood. My water is very hard and alkaline (7.5)...
I just ordered Aqueon Coralife 05619 Aqualight T5 Freshwater Dual Lamp Fixture from Amazon for my 36 inch long tank after MUCH debate. Looks like we want to grow similar stuff, so 48 inch version may be good fairly low cost option for you too.
I have set up my 30 Gallon with Java fern, Anubias, and some Anacharis in a corner. I have just ordered a double bulb T5NO light from Corallife which gives me 42 watts total across my 36 inch long, 16 inch deep tank. This looks like it should be low to medium light set up.
My substrate is...
The T5NO light I was looking at was a Aqueon Coralife 05619 Aqualight T5 Freshwater Dual Lamp Fixture, 36-Inch (http://www.amazon.com/Aqueon-Coralife-05619-Aqualight-Freshwater/dp/B001F99524/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1321664339&sr=8-15)
How would this work for my set up? Would that qualify as...
Thanks for the replies, the lights were both 34 inches in a 36 inch fixture. The 48 watt is T5NO, the 78 is T5HO.
My tank is 36 inch wide, 12 inches deep and 16 inches tall.
Thanks again. I appreciate all the input.
Jim
okay I'll probly skip carpet plants but I would like to have medium light plants and dont want a co2 system. Would t5ho at 78 watts for my 30 gallon tank be too much without co2? Would the 48 watts of t5no be better?
